Isle rumoured to be heavily after Johnny Hockey.

Good fit with Barzal and would make the team competitive in the division again (especially if the Pens are losing Malkin).

Except their cap would be utterly f***ed and I have no idea how they fit that in this year. $11 mill in space with only 4 blue liners under contract.

Holl for Varley practically writes itself, doesn't it?

Brendan Lemieux was not qualified by LA. He is a good 4th liner who provides toughness. Could propabably be signed for cheap. Already has a beef with B Tkachuk too

No idea how they'd make that work capwise. Even with an ultra cheap D group

if they get him..islanders will be in a SOLID position for barzal. They would definiltey have to get rid of some "old folks" that have been filling up their contracts.

I mean from that team, those are the only players i would've expected to win a cup and Komarov.
Komarov got fairly close. Three straight years his team lost in the semifinals to the eventual Cup winner (two Stanley's and a Gregarin).

Connor Brown and Jack Campbell to Edmonton in one day. I wonder if they’ll try to bring in JVR-Kessel-Bozak to complete their collection of ex-Leafs.

We have never had a better shot at the Atlantic title, and possibly even the President's trophy.

Tampa has bled some depth, Colorado's G situation is as dicey as ours, Florida has lost some good depth as well. A lot of teams we were competing with are finally having their bills come due on their efficient contracts.

With a healthy Matthews and some luck in net, I think we could realistically rule the Atlantic.

Main boards voting Dorion a better GM than Dubas....I'm not on the Dubas fan club mailing list but man this place is ccancerous. Dorion has been a brutal GM for years and now because he landed DeBrincat (high pick and only 1 year left on deal for the small, non-playdriving 10m winger...) and Giroux (over pay) he's better than a guy who's team has been near the top of the league every year?

You have to wonder how much of an effect Melnyk had on him?

I am not sure, but I still don't see the big wins this offseason. DeBrincat is a good get, but he's also going to need a 10m contract next year, and that's a lot for a small winger who doesn't drive play (unlike Gaudreau) or defend. I think there is some real risk in committing Marner money do a player like that.

Then with Giroux...I haven't been all that impressed with his level of play. He used to be a good skater, but now he's like Tavares out there. Maybe with more talent around him, he will be able to sit back and quarterback a line, but 6.5x3 is no discount for the old man.

Basically, they are counting on Stutzle becoming a #1C if they want to take a step forward. I guess the best thing you can say about Dorion is he didn't miss on any of his high picks, it looks like.
