apparently wash loves kuemper.
Edmonton loves campbell

Do we really get Murray and Comrie?

Would it be worth it to get a player back with Murray?

I wonder if he just gets bought out.

Buy-out cost 10 million. (2.5*4)

Retention of 3, is 6 million.
And from what's been said (can't remember which insider), it seems Ott really wants Giroux so they need to free up money fast! Also I think they want Giroux as a highlight to sell the franchise; like look we can get free agents too!!

They traded for Mrazek for that exact reason 🤣
Exactly, the Black Hawks are going all in on #1OA in 2023 Connor Bedard.

Regina Pats star Connor Bedard comes in at No. 1 in the first edition of Craig's List for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. “He's a dynamic player,” said TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button. “The brilliant hockey sense, the hand skills, the ability to break down opponents quickly and effectively.

Bedard already has scouts excited for 2023 NHL Draft

"He's elite hockey sense, elite skill, elite everything," Sullivan said of Bedard. "But when he does get frustrated out there, he's not afraid to give it back, which is a good sign. I compared him to [Hockey Hall of Famer] Marcel Dionne since he played the same way. Guys didn't want to fool around with [Dionne] because he would go right back at them, and yet he didn't have a lot of penalty minutes."

Does Sullivan believe Bedard is the NHL's next generational player?

"He's probably got the best shot I've seen in a long time, and the way he's playing, he probably could be generational, but let's not rush it right now," Sullivan said. "Let's wait until next year and when he winds up with 70 or 80 goals, then we can say he's generational.

Kids going to be nuts. I won't even begin to tout the whole generational tag but FWIW, generational players typically happen around every 8-10 years (Crosby 06, McDavid 2015). And it's been 8 years since McDavid counting when Bedard will be drafted.

Anybody criticizing teams for tanking are missing the point that these action are very intentional, deliberate and obvious.

Chicago would not be dealing 23 year old 40 goal man Alex DeBrincat, nor #3OA pick in 2019 and 21 year old Kirby Dach during a true rebuild.

"Bottoming Out for Bedard"

This kid is going to be the next generation player without question. The 16 year old given exceptional status just finished 4th in WHL scoring with 51 goals and 100 points in only 61 games.

Between th Fiala and now Forsberg extensions, getting a firmer idea what Nylander's next contract will be.

If the Leafs want to extend him, shouldn't be particularly hard to find the extra 900k-1.5 mil needed in extra capspace

this is why i will always be pro for acquiring future first rounders. just look at the gong shows that have happened in the last couple years. first ottawa then sanjose quite possibly montreal and who ever takes a step back

you never know when a team just might shit the bed. and you can get a top 5 pick out of it

His contract ends the same day as Auston Matthews does.

Leafs might need the majority of Willy's current cap space to afford the Matthews raise.

I sure hope Leafs prioritizes the Hart trophy winner higher on their list. :)

We should consider a Nylander trade to bring in Askarov and set our goaltending up for the next decade. Nashville may listen due to Sarros being there and if we get get a Askarov + Tomasino for Nylander, it gives us the flexibility to fill our second line as well plus have enough flexibility to add in mid season.

I'm really high on Askarov.

Don’t teams typically top ten protect future first round picks ?
