BB was great here for the most part, but the guy's just turned 68 and this team is years off benefitting from what BB could do.

Pathetic how he's been treated by Vancouver, but also not surprising, one of the worst ownership groups in NA sports.

Shameful to treat a head coach that way. They're used to being fired, to having their jobs questioned, but to be basically publicly cuckolded by another guy and have it drawn out like that? Terrible organization.

Especially bad when they are treating a coach as decorated as BB in such a way to bring in a guy who's career winning percentage is 8 losses off being below .400.

When Bruce first came to Anaheim they weren't expected the make the playoffs his first full year in Anaheim in 2012-13. He's good at developing players and getting them to play an actual system.

This wouldn't be the same kind of retread with Carlyle where he came in to get them to win in the playoffs and he's horrible at developing players.
boudreau's ducks teams overachieved like crazy. talk about getting the most you can out of your players. i'm not sure there are many coaches better at that than BB

funny how it's the complete opposite with carlyle. he can produce results for a couple seasons before he sucks the life out of the team

I would love BB back. Not this season of course, not until the tank is over. I think he would ruin the tank by winning games. But, next season 100%. He would have this offense firing on all cylinders.

I cant think of a better Eakins replacement for a young developing team. I bet he'd love to come back to so cal too.

Canucks are a trash organization. Always have been and alway will. Any team that celebrates Trevor linden like he was Mario Lemieux is pretty strange

Bruce Boudreau always reminded me of Pete Thornton from MacGyver !

From what I understand, his replacement is reportedly Rick Tocchet, who had to give TNT 4-week notice before he left the network to take the job. So Rutherford has simply been stringing Bruce along as a dead man walking.
Anyone who still doubts the "old boys club" being alive and well in the NHL can be referred back to this post please. f***ing insanity that anyone would give Tocchet another head coach job.

boudreau will for sure land another job soon if he wants it. but at his age, i can't see him going anywhere aside from a team ready to make the jump to playoff contender

he deserves another shot after how dirty vancouver did him, and all that just to go ahead and hire a career loser in rick tocchet

Loved him in his time in Anaheim and the Ducks teams he coached were super fun to watch. Would love to have him back in the organization next season.

Hopefully remembering this game will cheer Bruce up.

Crazy that was the 20th Anniversary season and next year will be the 30th anniversary season, time flies.

It's absolutely bullshit that they are putting Bruce through this, he deserves so much better. Class act, humble and personable when I met him a few years ago.

If there's silver lining to all of this, Bruce is getting a ton of love around the league and will no doubt be taken care of in terms of having a hockey job somewhere. Also it's shining a light on one of the worst owners in pro sports, more people seeing that situation for what it is.

^ Though I'll add to that, if Bruce has term remaining on his contract (believe he does have one year left), he should ride it out and enjoy some time off before taking a job elsewhere. Make their POS ownership have to pay every cent.
If it were me, that’s what I’d do but he doesn’t strike me as a guy who’d dwell on it for too long and he just loves the game. I hope to see him back coaching somewhere next year (and hopefully in Anaheim, lol)

If management had a different vision for the coach, fine. Obviously I don't think Tocchet's an improvement, but that's their prerogative.

They 100% could have done this on the down low and not disrespect Boudreau like this. Either let him finish out the season or just fire him and be done with it. In the process of trying to justify Bourdreau's firing by effectively subtweeting and being passy-aggy about the whole thing, they've really done nothing besides earn the ire of the fanbase.
