Well, I wasn't that off with my Bohemian Rhapsody quote. Jfc.

Alex Galchenyuk allegedly threatened to kill a police officer and the officer’s family and used a racist slur toward an officer at the time of his arrest Sunday evening, according to a police report detailing the incident.

“I’m gunna (sic) chop you and your daughter.”

“Let me go or I will make one phone call.”

“You’ll never see your family, how scary is that?”

“One phone call and you’re all dead, your whole family, your whole blood line is dead.”

Galchenyuk told one officer that he’d make one call to Russia and have the officer’s wife and daughter’s kidneys “cut out.”

“He then began to make racially charged slurs toward (the officer), calling him (a racial slur) on numerous occasions.”

Yikers. I was gonna make a lip reading joke but that's just so creepy and horrible that I can't even laugh about it.

Our org told McTavish to not participate at Dev camp because of the long season he had, which included winning MVP and gold at the WJC-20, from Aug 9 - 20th. Plus, McTavish was there the previous year.

Similar thing with Cutter having a really long season and participated at last year's Dev camp.

I did not know this tidbit, from BroadStreetBuzz:

There is also a rule with collegiate players that a team can only cover the cost of coming to development camp one time. If a player is invited and wants to attend after that, they would need to cover the costs themselves. That includes any transportation, food, or a place to stay will attending camp. This could’ve played into things with Gauthier as well. He was in attendance at last year’s development camp so he used up his one allowed Flyers-paid camp. It’s likely not easy for a college player to be able to cover the cost of everything on his own so it would make sense if that was another reason.
Players can get endorsement (NIL) deals from companies but can’t from a team trying to develop them

Yup. NCAA again for the win

A terrible player but an even worse person apparently, and that's saying something because the guy is ****ing awful. one of the most halfwitted players i've ever seen make it to the NHL.

Got Murray (3%) and Comeau (1%) in today's Puckdoku but it didn't count Severson for NJD/CBJ. :(

Yeah unfortunately they have to have played a game for them, I got burned the same way once when I tried using Vatanen for us and Carolina. They had him under contract but he never played a game.

Just checked in and Sami's ppg in the Swiss league, good for him. I know injuries played a role but it's wild to me that he was out of the NHL at 30.

It just occured to me that Nate Danielson, whom Detroit just picked with the #9 overall pick, is just a couple of weeks younger than Connor Hvidston. They also have very similar frames and production on WHL team that did not make the playoffs: Nate Danielson at eliteprospects.com

While Danielson led the team in scoring Hvid was top3 but he also missed some games. While Danielson was among the worst on team in +/-, Hvid was among the best in his.

A few members of that scandalous Canada WJC team have made their Instagram accounts private, including Carter Hart, Dillon Dube*, and Brett Howden*. Comtois and Steel both still have public profiles. Wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something official this weekend from the NHL given it’s the start of the NFL season.

EDIT: For the record, I can only comfirm that Hart’s account was previously public. For all I know, the other guys have always had private accounts.

*EDIT2: Apparently Dube has always been private on Instagram, and Howden has been for awhile. Hart definitely hasn’t been, though.

I'm looking forward to it going fully public so the victim as well as the innocent parties can get past it and get on with their lives. It's like a neverending horror show for everyone involved.
