What would a Henrique trade even look like??

The tough thing is that Anaheim's ownership doesn't seem like the type that would be happy to eat half (2.9 mil) of Henrique's deal next year. A Rico trade might make sense closer to the draft, especially if Anaheim knows they're in a spot to land a Bedard/Fantilli who could make the NHL immediately.

Plus Henrique and his wife just had their first kid, so we'll see if he'd invoke his NTC to block any deadline trades just because moving with a newborn sounds hectic.

That said.......for the lolz, how about:

Seattle: C Erik Haula (1x2.375)
New Jersey: C/LW Ryan Donato (1x1.4), 2023 3rd round pick, $50 Starbucks gift card

It was previously mentioned that Seattle might be shopping for a faceoff specialist as their centers are all under 50%. Haula (54.8% this season) could fit. Donato would be a warm body heading back to balance out the cap.

New Jersey: C/LW Adam Henrique (1x2.91) (50% retained)
Anaheim: LW Andreas Johnsson (1x3.4), C/LW Ryan Donato (1x1.4), 2023 2nd round pick

Johnsson and Donato are just warm bodies to balance out the cap and Anaheim would let them go after the season. Ducks get the 2nd rounder for primarily eating the salary. Essentially we swap out Haula for Henrique and drop a round in the draft?

Seattle
Burakovsky-Beniers-Eberle
Schwartz-Wennberg-McCann
Tolvanen-Gourde-Bjorkstrand
Tanev-Haula-Sprong
Hayden-Geekie

Anaheim
Vatrano-McTavish-Terry
Comtois-Zegras-Strome
Johnsson-Donato-Silfverberg
Jones-Megna-Leason

New Jersey
Henrique-Hughes-Bratt
Palat-Hischier-Tatar
Sharangovich-Mercer-(Holtz/Zetterlund/Boqvist)
Wood-McLeod-Bastian

Henrique has been 54% in the dot the last ~5 seasons in Anaheim. So he'd match Haula there plus also having the C/LW versatility to move around the lineup.

Why wouldn't Seattle just go for Henrique in this case lol

Cap space might be tough and Haula is on an expiring deal unlike Henrique. I imagine they'd want to carve out a roster spot for Shane Wright next season. Adding Henrique would put another vet in Wright's path.

Imagine being Flyers fans, last year you gave away your best player for little return and it might happen again this year. Teams might not want this headache.

I’m going to have to agree to disagree.
They need a way to end the game within a reasonable amount of time .
3 on 3 in my opinion is 100x more entertaining than a shootout.
Only problem with 3 on 3 is teams trying to maintain possession in way that is getting kinda silly. Make it so once you cross the redline ,you cannot circle back / bring / pass the puck back . Similar to over and back rule in basketball. Increase the time of 3 on 3 and punt the shoot out completely.
You know....looking back on what @tailfins said : "Reality is that no one really wants the games to go longer."

I say "No one knows what EVERYONE wants so we shouldn't speak for EVERYONE".

Each person has their preference but I imagine there would be more people who would prefer the excitement (and sudden death unpredictability) of a more lengthy 3-on-3 than a skills competition.

And I like your suggestion.

How in god's name are the Rangers going to afford Meier? Unless it's strictly as a rental? in which case, lmao have at it, hope they trade all their picks for him.
Ya no way in hell the Rags can sign Meier unless they move Panarin and or Trouba. I can mayyyyybe see them interested as a rental. Not only for themselves but to prevent other teams (mainly us) from adding him. It just doesn’t make much sense though because the Rags already have too many wingers , can’t see them paying to rent another.
