Not as stupid as what you are suggesting. If you hadn’t suggested what you did my example wouldn’t have been floated but sure I’m the idiot. You don’t refute the example you just say it’s bad. You don’t say it can’t happen and you don’t address how you’d handle it. What you don’t admit is that the bad example can only happen in the context you provide. At least come up with a distinction rather than just resorting to ad hominem attack.

If someone has a line they draw about when and with who they will take action against due to anonymous accusations, you can't give them an out by starting with an extreme example, you gotta get in the grey for them to realize how muddy their stance actually is when laid out.
