This Washington - Carolina game had some playoff intensity.

Andersen lets in a deflating late PP goal (albeit after the 5-on-3 expired) after Carolina rallied to tie it up in the 3rd going into it down 2-0.

Great game but tough to fault him on any of the goals. Great passing all around on that PP goal.

Usually Bergevin makes a shake up trade by now. I sort of thought something was going to go down. It was fun watching them implode this season. I thought they would be better than that, but I also thought Price/Weber would be there too.

Dorion & Benning next?

Was definitely more than a bit surprised at how many people seemed to think they had improved during preseason predictions.

They're still a bottom 5 team on paper, let alone how theyve played
Think that had more to do with how they played against the Leafs last season, lol.

Not going to lie but I will miss him.

I'll say this about Bergevin, the guy really cared about his team, he was there cheering them on during the playoffs in the dressing room, and he got choked up when asked out Prices mental health issues. That being said, he completely boxed the Habs in, and left that team with quite the mess to clean up.

Petry as an upgrade over Holl would be huge. But tough to do unless they retain.

Nobody else is appealing though.
As long as they retain Petry too. lol

He's been exposed this season without Weber, and it will only get worse. And currently his play is not an upgrade over Holl.

Pure gold from Bergevin:

That said, and despite the fact that this journey is coming to an end, I am proud of the legacy I'm leaving within the organization. The current team is much better than the results show, and I am convinced that my successors will be able to rise to the challenge.

It is with my head high and with unforgettable memories that I am leaving my role as General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
