Evan Rodriguez having quite the season for Pittsburgh..... Dubas acquired him in the Kapanen deal but couldnt get him to sign. He might end up being a more valuable player than Kapanen. What a heist that trade would be making out to be if Dubas wouldve been able to re-sign Rodriguez.

Yes, quite a haul. Obviously, we don't have many of the players anymore, but I'm interested to see if Rodrigues keeps progressing and what Amirov and Hallander become in a few years.

The difference is when the Leafs lost 1 or 2 players in the playoffs it was chaos. Boston is understandable, but they couldn’t compete with Columbus and Montreal.

Eh, you could point to a dearth of picks, a slightly concerning farm team (staff), some bigger (not big) money UFAs who have yet to make too much of an impact

I'm not too concerned with those right now, but every team has a least a couple of things that are suboptimal

It’s good to have a full draft card, but it’s also important to remember there were 5 surplus picks made in ‘20.

I can only imagine the ridicule for suggesting Hyman be on team Canada when he was a Leaf. 20 games in a different jersey changes that entire conversation apparently. I'm not saying players like that shouldn't be on the Olympic team, btw.

Things change I guess. Maybe they weren't happy with his body of work. I'm not sure if Mellanby speaks French either despite being from Montreal.

It's possible they want to give Gorton the keys to hire his guys and it's very possible Mellanby isn't part of that.

It reminds me a bit of when Shanahan had to make a decision between Lamoriello and Dubas, and whoever "lost" would eventually leave. Sounds like Moulson made his choice.

Not sure but I think they just lowered the number of covid cases necessary to suspend games, just for Lou.

I certainly haven't said that. Of course injuries affect a team, and while one or two shouldn't make a huge difference, a third of your team being callups from the minors can.

Especially when you're a team built on defence and minimal scoring, and you lose most of your defencemen.

I have no idea why their offence has gone AWOL.

I'm not making excuses and I'm not defending Lou; just stating facts.
