You gotta think one of Palat or Killorn gets traded off the bolts to make salary cap room for Point.

The Oilers, in my opinion, have demonstrated a failure to develop proper NHLers and just hope that skill alone will get them by. Aside from first overalls of Connor McDavid and Taylor Hall, have they really developed any other respectable NHLers?

For sure. No team has done less with top 10 picks, and later high round picks than them. When was the last 2nd/3rd round pick that was worth a damn?

And they both have NTC's. To trade them, you have to convince them to not only leave the #1 contender in the league, but also the tax situation. Might be able to offload Paquette if forced. Or they might not need to, if they give Erne a NTC too.

I might be overthinking it, but perhaps a little bit of 3D chess by Tampa. Shattenkirk probably eats into Mikhail Sergachev's PP time, which in turn makes Sergachev look less impressive on paper for contract negotiations next summer.

I think Tampa announced that they'd be looking to deal Louis Domingue but I can't imagine too many teams would be interested without sending a contract back. Devils could maybe use an experienced #3 in case Schneider gets hurt again, but Domingue would feel underwhelming.

Surprised there are that many. The Ducks and Kings shouldn't be any good, so no shock there. I don't think the Kings and Sharks were on last year. They might've snuck one in there, but it wasn't like previous years. Why they have to force another Kings/Lightning game in there, I don't know.

I'm counting 6 times for Vegas, somehow fewer than the Kings, and twice against Arizona. SJ 7 times, somehow tied with the Kings.

Looks like most of those "kings" games will be telecasts 'for' the other team, given we play TBL, Pittsburgh, Vegas, Colorado Stadium Series. Those'll be fun.

Yeah, I don’t think we’ll be on there for our benefit. We will be a punching bag for a premier team.

It follows last year's point totals for centers almost to the T. lol So I guess I know what they based it on.
Maybe they should have given Kopitar a better ranking based on his plus/minus? Opps, no wait, how about the number of shots on goal? Err, nope. Okay, maybe we should go with one of those fancy possession metrics? Uh, no.

Maybe Kopitar needs to bust his ass a little more next season?

Guess he's trash. We should buy him out.

I know it's not really the 'best thing' for the franchise, but I'd really like us to have a '**** you' season to shut all the pundits up and re-enact the 2012 Kings. It's nice being under the radar.
The Kings are so far under the radar, they are on the sonar.

Not trash, but he sure as hell isn't top 20 in the NHL at this time. He will get back there, if he puts in the effort.
Why do you think I was unsure of their criteria and realized it was based solely on last season's performance. The title should really be "2018-19 Top 20 Centers in the NHL."

Some people are never happy with what he does. He's too old/boring/not flashy/not Canadian/not east coast or Original 6 enough to get love even when it's deserved.

FWIW they had him at 6th last year, despite scoring more than Matthews or Crosby. People will look for reasons to knock him down regardless. It's maddening. Never mind the Hart snub.

Most consistently underrated player in the NHL by both the NHL and fanbase.

A modicum of consistency from Kopitar would help solve this problem.

Over a decade of consistency didn't solve it. a 92 point season didn't solve it. Leading the playoffs in scoring twice, multiple Cups, Selkes, hart-caliber seasons didn't solve it.

Just hoping he's one of those players that's remembered more fondly in hindsight.
