Not a surprise, given he's not budging, but by his comments, Nylander won't be a Leaf...
Leafs want 2 to 3 yrs at about 6.5 , he wants 8 x 8.5

imo he probably should sign a bridge deal in hopes toronto puts it together but 6.5 isn't enough and he has effectively no reason to take less at this point

kid's talented and $7M doesn't really buy what it used to with how the cap's going up

Didn't his dad hold out too?

agreed 100%..blow out game Eller deserved to get punched for his celebration

Yeah, the way things were portrayed on the main board made it sound like some lame old-school baseball thing where the mere fact he was celebrating at all after a late goal in a blowout was what set Marchand off. But no, he was waving to the Bruin bench (twice) with a smirk. I mean, I don't mind that he did it, but he should have expected push-back from someone on Boston.

I agree with you on the bolded. If you are going to do something like that expect someone to step up

I got in an argument with some Canadian journalist on Twitter about the Leafs trio. This was months ago.

I said Matthews, Marner, and Nylander would be close to $30 million combined on their next deals.

He said I was crazy, and Nylander would be lucky to get 7.

Who’s crazy now?

The market has been set on these kids. The most conservative estimates have Matthews at 11, Marner at 8, Nylander at 6. That’s still $25 million.

James Mirtle should give me his job.

Can the Leafs win without Nylander? I think so.

As an asset, I don't think they should let Nylander go to waste. Trade him for a good young defenseman. Sadly, the Kings have none to offer. The Ducks might be a team that could swing a deal for Nylander.

I don't think the Ducks owner is willing to spend the money unless they can get rid of Perry's contract.

Quite possible and a good point illustrative as to why those types of contracts shouldn't be given to aging forwards.

Wow. The games im seeing so far. The other teams play so free flowing my goodness. So fun to watch. Makes it so painfully obvious how rigid the Kings structure is

First thread at the top of the general forum: "
"Senators drop giant heavy beach balls on fans during pre-game, spilling beer and hurting children."

 made my rough day.

The game has evolved, and the Kings are stuck in quicksand, it's infuriating
