I like Tavares, but for a player who never won a scoring title, been integral in any major playoff performance, or been a top defensive forward, that's a lot of commitment.

They have loads of cap room this year, but they have lots of new contracts to give out after that. I think it’s a good move for them but their roster now gets a shake up.

I assume Matthews slides down to 2C, but surely that makes Kadri trade fodder as I can’t see him being happy at 3C, Or can one of them (properly) play wing?
