The #NHL to propose a two-minute penalty for a failed coach's challenge on offside http://fw.to/aJOfzXX #TSNHockey

That needs to be done, way too much time being lost on that and the reviews

As @PierreVLeBrun reported yesterday, the New Jersey Devils remain a contender for Alex Galchenyuk.

They need a center, but I think they need a d more, replace Larsson. I've read that the Habs are asking a bit too much and maybe they'll have to change that way of thought.

Good deal, he was pretty good for them.

With the Jordan Eberle trade, the Oilers will announce later a contract extension for Kris Russell. 4 years at $4M per. Confirmation to come

Tough day for Tippett...

Dave Tippett leaves Chicago tomorrow. His summer Minnesota home was struck by a tornado, damaging the garage, barn, deck & lakeside dock.

Vegas has gotten calls on many of their young guys. Three teams called about Shea Theodore already. Answer was clearly No.

Asked GM GM about Nate Schmidt, says he's not trading any of his young players. Keeping Schmidt.

No way anybody else will do that either...

Hearing that Radulov's latest contract ask was six years at $7 M per season. No way Habs do that...

and annually, it' defies logic. Firing Tippett won't change that. Good for him to free himself of that mess. Good hockey guy, he'll land on his feet somewhere

Promote within? Based on reaction received from the coaching fraternity, the all of a sudden vacant job in Arizona is viewed as toxic.

This 100%

The Coyotes situation is a concern. On and off the ice. When was the last time that franchise was relevant ?

I can't keep up, do they even have a real owner at this point? A real arena? They're moving, they're getting kicked out, they're building something new, it fell through...

They are their very own reality show. And doesn't make sense to me that Bettman continues to support them being there when Quebec doesn't have a team. DOn't need 2 teams in southern fla either.

It begins. Hjalmarsson dealt to Arizona. That's gonna hurt the Hawks.

So that's all Chicago was able to get for Hjalmarsson??? Yeah, those Muzzin for Landeskog or Duchene trade proposals have absolutely zero shot (not that I ever thought they did).

Edit: Hawks only saved $250,000 off the cap if that Dauphin guy is in the AHL too. What a weird move by Bowman.

Hawks don't save hardly any money. Puzzling move to say the least...

I think Chicago was considering the age of the players and the cap certainty in this deal.

Murphy isn't chopped liver. He is 24 years old, and is under contract for $3.85M a season for five more seasons.

Hjalmarsson is 30 years old, and is under contract for $4.1M a season for two more seasons. He will likely looking for the retirement deal when. his current deal expires.

Actually not a bad deal for Chicago. They get much younger and a player they can hold onto with his current cap hit for the next five years.

Arizona gets a player many teams will pay for handsomely in a deadline deal either this year or next.

Aww it's because Toews and Kane missed Saad.

Chicago gets swept and Bowman makes major deals. Wonder if Seabrook is next. Kings win 1 playoff game in 2 seasons and Lombardi signs Teddy Purcell lol

That was his downfall, Dean got attached to the major pieces of this roster, all of them, you can't do that. I think that's why many of us would like to see a major move via trade (not sure what goes out, McNabb getting taken would seem to make a defenseman less likely, but who knows).
