Just finished watching Caps-Wild.

Richards just can't move out there, he still has good game sense but he just can't move out there and do anything.

Scoreless through 10 games with the Caps and a -1.

I guess the -1 is a major improvement over his time in LA, just read that he has failed to record a shot in 5 of the Caps last 6 games.

Just thank the hockey gods that we somehow got out of this with minimal damage.

He was injured (lower body) in the last Caps game vs Nashville, wasn't at practice on Wens and until gametime, they weren't sure if he would be playing at all.

Since apparently you haven't seen him play, he's done alot of things in all areas, and he's played very well so far, prior to the injury, skating well, averaging close to 13 min per game and 3 or more min PK time, he's been strong on faceoffs and esp good on the PK. For someone who hadn't played in over 9 mos, he put up 13 min and 3 min on PK his first game back and was their best player. It's not easy when you miss training camp and then almost right away, lose 8 days to a snow storm and 5 more to all star break.

I was surprised he was playing at all last night, given the awkward hit.

I know you can't see Richards, and will never see him, that's your choice. But he's doing just fine as CAP, and will continue to do so, whatever is asked of him, thru a long playoff run.
He's moved on, shame you can't.

Puck-rakers: #CBJ sign D Ryan Murray to two-year contract extension at $2.825 per season http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com...rs/2016/02/murray-signs-2-year-extension.html

Good deal for the BJ's. Jones, Murray and Werenski will be a solid trio of good D there for a lot of years.

Good article on Ghost, outlining how special he is and good he's been, esp for a rookie defensman, hardest position to adjust to and learn.

http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on...st-of-incredibly-rare-season-3-things-to-know

1. Gostisbehere is on a scoring pace not seen in decades for a rookie defenseman

The assist Thursday pushed Gostisbehere's season total to 29 points in 35 games, good for an average of 0.83 points per game. That's a pretty strong pace for any current defenseman, but it's incredibly rare for a rookie. So rare that you have to go back to Brian Leetch in 1988-89 to find a rookie blueliner that was more productive on a per-game basis than Gostisbehere.

He's been amazing to watch, just an incredibly talented and confident young man whose given a pulse to a team that so badly needed it. Great vision, high IQ and great skater, good shot (had to change sticks , beg. last night, because he keeps breaking the old ones when he shoots, broke 5 in the 2 games prior). Three of his 9 goals are GWG in OT. Nothing but confidence, no fear. Adding Provorov next year and Sanheim possibly, will be big wind in the Flyers defense sails for years.

Murray and Jones I think will be the pairing they go with. Solid bridge deal for bot club and player.

Good to see a player recognize that a bridge deal is the right way to go. It bothers me that recently , players jumping from rookie deal to 'LTC' for way too much
You have to earn that, it doesn't come off a rookie deal.

And I think he and Jones will be a good duo...

With his injury history I doubt a long term deal came his way that was really all the enticing. This gives the player a chacne to prove himself and earn a big paycheque in two years.

Happy to hear that.

That Ghost is pretty impressive. Any chance Ron Hextall would be interested in talking trade again? ;)

Prout must trevor lewis's hands, when he tags someone, they stay hit. As for Stewart, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Scott Umberger would love Manhattan Beach....maybe he could take Goonus ...uh Gudas with him
Last night , again, dirty hit on Daniel Catenacci , a brutal head shot, hope he gets the book thrown at him...

there's a video of it here...Foligno called him an idiot after the game an he's right, total headhunter, one of the dirtiest players in the NHL

Can't believe there is no discipline for that hit. That ****er knew his hit would be a headshot and still went for it. Gutless.

Glad McCabe went after him for that bull ****.

I thought at the least he would get a fine so that it would be on his record.

More teams would be boned than wouldn't if that were the case.

Wouldn't be surprised to see limited compliance buyouts in that drastic a scenario.

new report suggesting cap could go down $4M...ruh roh

Oh Whakatane. Couldn't they somehow adjust players caphits down. eg the players existing caphit drops by the same percentage that the cap drops but players still get paid their actual contract. If that makes any sense.

Something like that would makes sense IMO, however the NHLPA would have a **** fit.
Maybe the players would still get paid 100% but the cap hit would be 94% (4/71=6%). Just a one year thing and re-evaluate after this year.

Ironic that the biggest yapper in the league broke his jaw.

a third pair defenseman/neanderthal on the Flyers that has a penchant for making bad hits.

your question was probably rhetorical though
he is quite literally a nobody

Usually it is, but I actually have no idea who this clown is. Which in and of itself is shocking because I have a penchant for talking **** about plugs.
