Maybe not Schultz, but I think the Kings could use another RD. Martinez is a LD, I think he is less effective on his off-side.

I'm not trying to poopoo you guys just help me understand. He brings a pretty pricey contract, no history of NHL success, and issues in the D-zone. He's below average in almost all stats on a bad Oilers team. Also, you thought Muzzin's turnovers were bad...

So what is it? What does he bring?

I think working with the Kings development team would help, and I think our system would help insulate him, so I get it from that standpoint, but I think we're getting carried away thinking the Kings can acquire just anyone and make it work. I just don't see who he replaces. McBain is a much better value and already here and integrated.

naturally, everyone in the pacific got 2 points tonight (Flames pending but meh).

It's going to look like last year's stretch run imo because teams just keep writing off the Sharks and other Pac teams but the Kings. Mayyyybe people will wake up to the Ducks but it will be too late.

We're going to need to play a lot more than .500 hockey and even then it may not be enough if other teams keep playing at .800 like they did last year.
