That seems weird to me. In previous expansions did they also take into account payroll, or is this a new thing?
it's new..in other drafts there was no cap

Sharks fans saying Burns should win the Norris.
It's clearly between Doughty and Karlsson.

with the escalator...and I'm not sure how they are going to pull that off with the plunging dollar .
The Loonie has balanced out and gone back up slightly. It's sitting at .75 right now.
Wow I've heard it all!![]()

Let's just assume Brown will be Dean's sacrificial lamb. Would it be anyone else?
Right. And if DL called and said let's swap Burns for DD right now, there would be a parade in San Jose and thousands of people volunteering to drive him to the airport. Brent Burns season = Mike Green season.
The big thing is making 25% of the payroll avail.
It's said as payroll not cap.
So we would be looking at around 20M to have to have exposed. And brown is only 1/3 of that number.
The only argument they have is regarding his goals. I remember Sharks fans ripping Burns for his crappy defense this season.

ducks - rangers tonight. i'll watch it as an overture to kings - rangers tomorrow, but i'm also curious about the ducks in general, lak's path to stanley is only over their corpses.

this expansion draft isn't going to help the Kings.
No way a team takes Brown over someone like Forbort/Gravel (if Brown allows himself to be moved in the first place)
Gaborik probably as well to boost the exposed salary up.
Forbort/Gravel would be exempt, as I understand it, because of their number of years in the league. McNabb is the one on D we would potentially lose.
Yeah but Karlsson wouldn't be the same player on the Kings. Offensively he'd still be better than Doughty but he wouldn't be getting close to 80 points. He'd probably sit around 60-65 on the Kings.
Meh, Rangers looking past the Ducks to avenge 2014
Im not so sure, I really dont think he would put up crazy numbers on a structured team. Sutter's system will shrink anyone's offensive numbers, even the Lord Savior Karlsson
rj, seriously, how do you see kings vs ducks h2h this season? i'm not afraid about the playoff series with them, imo it's at least 50-50 for lak, but i just can't find a fine edge this season, a lot of stats arguments favour ducks in this case, apart from playoffs being a completely different animal, and history goes with lak here.
