SJ has long been a strong hockey market with good fans. I take no satisfaction in seeing the arena empty like that.

The problem is, the Sharks are boring. It's basically the exact same team with the exact same result every year. How many times can you watch the same movie?

Agreed.

It's also a wednesday night game against the predators during the world series, NBA opening night, and halloween season.

I guess they should take a good look in the mirror if they're going to refer to Kings fans as bandwagoners.

However, I do agree that traditionally the Sharks have had a loyal and loud fanbase, I've been to games there, and the way they treated Luc in his final NHL game was all class.

You are right that they're likely fed up with the same inept decisions being made by an incompetent management group that is treading its tires.

You forgot the Republican debate. I'm sure that's huge in the northern California bay area.

It's a shame to see how his attitude is really affecting his future. First class talent and no class attitude = disaster.
Perhaps in the locker room but if the kid is going to put up a ton of points, he will be a NHL player no matter what.

You often read this, but those who arent a NHL regular because of character issues arent very good to begin with.

I like this kid.

Plus the arena's getting long in the tooth, there's not a lot going on during stoppages (which can be a plus), and there's even less going on outside (there's a machine shop across the alley!). "Going to the stadium because it's a great experience" is maybe less of a thing for fans when the competition isn't as compelling as say the Kings or the Wings.

A lot of delusional people in the McJesus thread. I know the kid is hyped up to be the next superstar but to say he's better than Kopitar/Toews right now is hilarious.

It's not nearly as bad as saying Eichel is as talented as him (and better in his own way) and then getting eaten alive by the Canadian posters.

Exactly.

Same core and same results for close to a decade now. But don't feel to bad for the fans, if you go to their board here or FearTheFin, the most vocal of the fans and bloggers were supportive of keeping "Patty" and "Jumbo"

That team needed to be completely gutted after 2014, but here we are, two seasons later and it's the same lame team.

Ah, yes. FearTheFin. I've had many interesting conversations with that account.

And NEVER FORGET this gem after Game 3.

I didn't mind seeing the same movie in 2012 and 2014. but I guess that was a much better ending than the Sharks fans have been seeing for 15 years or so! :yo:

But I do I agree.. it is a bummer.

it wasn't the same movie, it was a sequel. Unlike most movies, this sequel was even better than the first.

The return would be much better then too. Ever year that you are not a contender with that core then its a step back.

agree to disagree...everyone remembers their first

2012 was like A New Hope. It was a new and great experience, but 2014 was like The Empire Strikes Back. It was a more entertaining run on its own.

Hopefully 2016 is Return Of The Jedi.
