Around the League 15-16 Part 2

I got the experience the ultimate high and low when I started watching the Kings from when they acquired Gretzky and the '93 Cup run to getting washed up Oilers like Grant Fuhr and Petr Klima.

Sadly, I actually got excited and had high hopes that Klima would find his groove in LA seeing how I was used to seeing him always score against the Kings. He lasted 8 games as a King, LOL.

Another King I got excited about before I realized he was way over the hill was Neal Broten. The Kings sure knew when the pick up players back then, when they were on the wrong side of 30. Bless you "Disaster" McMaster.

They did the same thing in the expansion draft. JKC tradition carried over for many years for the Kings until Lombardi got on the scene (and before him, Taylor, only to a certain extent).

I used to joke with my friends that the Kings was the last team many players wanted to play for. Because after playing for the Kings they retired.

2012 was incredible, but it was such an unbelievable ride. You blinked and a series was over. It was total domination. No one could touch the Kings.

2014 was much more impressive though and my favorite of the two. Going to the brink and then coming back in all three Western Conference series was an incredible ride. That run proved to me that nothing was unattainable and it made last season that much more difficult to process. Kings showed they were, without a shadow of a doubt, the best team on the planet. Mental toughness is a very underrated and often overlooked asset, but the Kings had (and hopefully still do) it in spades. Many so called contenders lack an ounce of what the Kings had - Vancouver, Anaheim, St. Louis - among others.

I had the feeling both years after the Kings made it out of the West it was over and they were going to win. It was just a formality to play the Finals.

But like Dean says, the best one is the next one.

Blues and Ducks with a dust up as a result of Ott being a dumbass. Laid a big hit that was clean, but then he decided to also jump on Wagner's back after laying him out with a hit.

No way Blues get even a cup sniff with that goaltending. Can anyone imagine Quick giving that one up?

Cheap shots, and flopping from the _ucks right now. Worth watching this game ...

BUT HOW'S MCDAVID LOOKING? WHAT'D YOU SEE???

caps

His skating stride is strong and powerful
His passes are as crisp as it gets
His smile is pearly white

Sekera has been garbage for the Oilers so far this season. Guess that's what happens when you try and make a good #3 a #1.

Does Ahlers know the term "coast to coast" means from behind the net from one end to the front of the net of the other? It does not mean from just inside the redline.:shakehead
