There's only one piece of hardware I care about, but EK winning a third Norris before Doughty wins one would be criminal. Doughty is the gasoline that keeps the LA Kings engine running.

Will EK get the 3rd Norris before Doughty gets his 3rd ring?

That's the only thing I want to know.

Kings should have enough of a cushion to withstand anyone.

I am happy the division is doing better, would love to see the Ducks miss out.

I'd like to see some of the teams make a run, and push down some Central teams. Then we won't have to hear how bad the Pathetic...Pacific is anymore.

As long as we're doing well, that's all that matters. I would love it if the Ducks and Sharks missed.

I actually want the Ducks and Sharks in the playoffs, easy pickings for us. What I definitely don't want to see is Calgary in because of the **** storm they caused last year on our board and the main boards.

This feels weird to type, but Arizona would be the team I'd least like to matchup with in the playoffs from the Pacific. They've been super even keel all season outside of early December. Not streaky like a lot of young teams. Domi and Duclair are scary. And they've got a legit no. 1 defenseman, something that a lot of teams in the division don't seem to have. Speedy but with more grit than the Flames. I don't like Tallon but he does consistently get his teams to overachieve (outside of last year).

I still like LA in a seven game series, but it's the only matchup I don't think would be a completely one-sided slaughter. The LA wins might be blowowouts though, 'cause Mike Smith. Only part of the team that isn't "even keel."

Would be sweet to see Brown end another player's career though...

They could collectively end Doan's career. He's a UFA at the end of the season. 39 years old...

But yeah. Rosival was a pretty amazing comeback story. Career was over, only to battle back and break his ankle, again in the conference final.

"That's a nice knee you got there. Would be a shame if someone... nuked it." :sarcasm:

I guess I'll add an emoji at the end because the last time I said something like that Amy Dunne went away for 30 days.

Nope, I totally agree. I may be overrating Arizona, but they have that "don't give a ****" attitude that makes them dangerous. Winning or losing in a game, they make me uneasy because they have the talent to Calgary it and suck all game but just pop one in when it matters. Especially with OEL back there, if they have a competent goalie, the coaching squeezes every last drop out of that team. They're totally comfortable letting us cave them in with corsi.

Nashville started out 6-1, with a goal differential of +8. Since that start, they're 13-16-7, and a -18. 4-9-1 against the Central for the year.

It was bound to even out as the year unfolded. So many Central teams started out so well. I think 4 were on pace for 130 points, 5 for 115 or whatever. Even if it's just Central teams playing Central teams, and Pacific teams playing Pacific teams. There's still a difference in the point totals, but even Arizona is only 4 points behind Minnesota.

The influence of Trotz on the team is finally wearing off and we're seeing what we basically saw in Philadelphia. Laviolette is a mediocre coach.

watched some of the Hawks/Preds last night

Preds look like absolute trash, I recall only 2-3 times in the last period that they even got a cycle going. Never felt like they had any control of the game at all, the goal they scored was just from a cluster**** in front of the net and a good read by Forsberg. Don't get people who say they are a contender in any fashion.

I think Laviolette's message gets lost on players after a couple of years. Players seem to really like him so who knows maybe he is not enough of a hard ass and allows players to get away with ****.
One thing is for sure his GM just traded away a player he loved to fill a need. If they do not get out of the 1st round I think Laviolette gets canned

His message got lost by the 2nd year in philly. I was never a fan of his, don't go for the intimidation and fear , hard ass style. He came in dec 2009 and the team barely made the playoffs (shootout goal) and what got them to the SCF that spring was leadership, Pronger, Rchards and Briere. The next year Pronger has 5 injuries and missed most of the year, Richards tore his left wrist ligament and cartilage in training camp (pronger was already out) and was advise to 'play thru it' . MISTAKE. They did fine until Jan and then the downward spiral went into effect and they lost far too many games they should havewon. There were whispers then by reporters from what some of the players were saying that he'd lost the room, riding them too hard. After an embarrassing loss to the Rangers Feb 2011, he made them to bag and skate drills for 3 straight days in practice and the light went out, that is when he lost them. They were never the same after that.

As for the bolded, he has a temper and didn't hide it, he is a very intense coach, gets in your face , punched out soda machines and would argue with players on th bench. (B Schenn's rookie year, the camera caught him and Lavvy (red faced) arguing and the guy that stands between the benches (tv color guy) had to turn his mic off.

Three years is his limit, but I felt he inherited a much better team in Nashville and was hoping he'd softened his ways.

We'll see...and I don't think trading for RJ will help. Skilled, size and talent, yes, but doesn't have an ounce of leadership and doesn't appear to be a player who is comfortable becoming the 'it' guy, carrying the weight of the 'promised land' charge. And that is what they expect of him, why they traded Jones to get that 'missing piece 1C' that he'll be 'that guy.' who will solve their offensive punch for a deep playoff run
And given his lazy attitude , I can't see that. He might not be comfortable in that role and elect not to sign there.

Of that bench brawl vs the Panthers the other night, with him and Dorsett trash talking. Daniel Sedin says:

Jason Brough
‏@JasonPHT Daniel: "Guys on our team are getting into a lot of trouble for things they say..."

Yup...

When are we going to stop being haters and give Erik Karlsson the Hart trophy? He clearly deserves it. I mean the daily main board Karlsson circle jerk thread told me so it must be true.

He has a better case for the Hart than the Norris, but still needs to overcome Kane.

but ssshhhhhhhh don't let them hear us talking about him.
