isn't his injury going to put him out longer than his suspension? Thought I had read that somewhere

I think this is the case as well. But I can't remember when or where I read or head about this. Maybe it was watching a San Jose feed of a game not too long ago.

The Ducks would be dummies if they traded someone like Vatanen away for Drouin, the kid is going to be really good. I could see them dealing Ritchie or Theodore or something. Who knows, Drouin could go to somewhere totally unexpected like Winnipeg.

Not what Stevie Y is looking for, he's about to turn 25 and going into a LTC contract. He wants equal value in age and talent, and something that will give him a few years on low $$. That's why EF mentioned Nick Ritchie and Brandon Montour, the AHL's number two scorer among defencemen and rookies, who is a right handed shot.

He said (to the Mercury news) his ankle is coming along fine. The article did mention due to his long absense, he'd most likely need a conditioning stint with the Barracuda, and could be eligible for the by Wens.

Watching NHL Live and they're talking about Quenneville signing a 3 year extension and about how he's a HOF coach. Makes me think, is Sutter going to go into the HOF? What are the prerequisites for coaches now? I would think he should be. 3 SCF appearances, 2 Cups...so far. Also, Vinny is going to call in later for those interested. I'm sure KingsVision will post it later though.

Sutter will be close but I think it depends how long he wants to do it for.
Last year was the first year in all his years of coaching where he failed ot make the playoffs when he coaches the team for the whole season. That's unreal

Does anyone know the easiest way for me to tell shots for/ against in kings losses this year? A buddy at work keeps *****ing about how Calgary outshot San Jose so badly last night but lost. Want to shut him up

You can edit the field to show for years going back.

You call up the boxscore for shots on goal

Also the LA Kings Insider has a post game report after every game the breaks it out further, (attempts, blocked shots, etc.)
One picked at random:

http://lakingsinsider.com/2015/10/13/october-13-postgame-notes-2/

From that

-The Kings attempted 54 shots (15 on goal, 17 blocked, 22 missed). The Canucks attempted 42 shots (26 on goal, 8 blocked, 8 missed). Alec Martinez led all skaters with seven shot attempts (1 on goal, 3 blocked, 3 missed). Radim Vrbata and Daniel Sedin led all skaters with four shots on goal.

thanks...not exactly what I was lookign for.
the NHl one says there are 7 losses when LA out shot the opposition. Too bad you cannot click on the 7 to reveal those game's box scores

found it, there were 5 games where LA outshot their opponent by > 10 shots this year and lost.

Does anyone know if there are stats available for win/loss record with having played a game the previous day vs. win/loss record with the previous day off?

I wouldn't worry. Torres is a knuckle-dragger, but even so he is smart enough to know when he has played his last card. This guy might be the safest player to play against, going forward. He probably will be a traffic cone, lest he accidentally hit someone.

Please excuse my crude Photoshopping. It was a rush job and I am late for lunch.

:)

Torres isn't smart enough to know he's on his last leg.

The last time I rooted for the Sharks was probably never, until tonight.

Can't stand Winnipeg, their players, and their fans. Joke Team; should have stayed in Atlanta. At least they were likable then.

Kane is having a phenomenal season, and is probably the best player in the NHL, but how many years is he going to have 62 points in the first 44 games? Without Kane having this type of year, where would Chicago be this season? What will Chicago do when their playoff opponents inevitably target Kane for extra physical play?

I like the Kings' approach much better. Things are more balanced, including the payroll.

People always talk about playing physical against guys like Kane and Gaudreau, but you just can't do it because they burn you when you get out of position.

BTW, guess Chicago is immune to everyone's favorite excuse for the Kings disaster of a season last year.

Toews/Hossa production is not that good so far, both look a little fatigued.

True Herby, but we all know that some players aren't above cheap shotting a star, and Kane is having an extraordinary year, even for Kane.

I still don't think any single player is worth an AAV of $10.5M going forward in this economic environment. The Kane and Toews contracts will limit Bowman's ability to ice a contending team in the not too distant future.

With the Sharks win tonight, 4th place in the Pacific has 44 points and fifth place in central has 45 points. And San Jose will have games in hand on Nashville.

Maybe we will get 4 pacific teams after all.

It already had an effect this year, Without the two Gang buster 800k production wonders.

Chicago would be feeling that in the standings.

Nashville sinking faster than lead. That team is done.

Ehhh, we'll have to agree to disagree. You know my thoughts on this, you build around the superstars not the depth guys.

I mean, remember the talk in 2010 about Chicago being a one and done team because they didn't sign Toews and Kane to "bridge" contracts and it cost them their supposedly key role players. Well, 2 Stanley Cup's later.

I think the Kings will be fine when Drew and Kopi are making a combined 21 a year in a few years.

Kane missed a huge chunk of games, Panarin wasn't here. Those are their most productive players along with the fresh reinforcements. No shock.

And Keith is getting back to form after missing some games too.

Thanks for nothing, Edmonton. up 3-0, lose 4-3 to Arizona AND make it a 3 point game. GD it.

SJ won too. Pacific waking up. Thank goodness for that cushion.

Log on to the main forum to see an EK for Hart thread and linked article. Nevermind the fact that Ottawa isn't in a PO spot, and will probably miss it.

Dude is going to be too exhausted to win any trophies this year with all the ball tickling his HF groupies are performing.

There's only one piece of hardware I care about, but EK winning a third Norris before Doughty wins one would be criminal. Doughty is the gasoline that keeps the LA Kings engine running.

I'm not concerned about Arizona actually catching the Kings, are you? LOL at Edmonton getting one point. Don't see Kings trembling at that concept.

Now, San Jose and Anaheim, I'm more concerned about those two teams, especially Anaheim. Rooted for San Jose tonight because Winnipeg. Their fans couldn't get over referees calling a fair game and booed them for half a period. Then all they had left was to go home in -9° weather.

Ouch.
