agreed and tes they can, they need to sign him to maybe a 2 or 3 year deal worth somewhere above his RFA price at 1.2m or so if possible. I'd also gets talks going with Holl just to see where he's at as far as expectations of a dollar amount. If Holl wants anything above anything that starts with a 3 than he becomes a piece at the deadline if there's any deals to be made say with ChicagoHe can be Holl's replacement next year. You don't want him playing and putting up big numbers this year if you want to sign him cheap next year. Could they give him an extension right now if they wanted? He's a RFA in July anyway so good problem to have. Too promising to trade him.
PK as in Patrick Kane? You’re going to need a whole lot more than that package to acquire him lolagreed and tes they can, they need to sign him to maybe a 2 or 3 year deal worth somewhere above his RFA price at 1.2m or so if possible. Holl + Kerfoot + Voit + Abruzzese
Athanasiou + C. Jones + PK + Vlasic or Regula + Chicago 2nd 2023
obviously PK is going to play with JT and MM
Athansiou big fast and will help make the bottom 6 one of the best in the league, he's never really found his NHL niche and he's upcoming UFA
AA - Kampf - IronHook
ZAR - Punch - Engvall
Caleb Jones young Dman who can play in the bottom 4 but ideally suited for the 5/6 and can be qualified this summer at 1.5 or so but is arbitration eligible
both Vlasic and Regula are big mobile dmen 6'6" and 6'4" respectively and could be ready for NHL service in a year or two
Yes it kinda sucks giving up Voit and Abruzzese, but essentially the Leafs get that missing piece upfront and a bottom 6 that will stand with the leagues best and some future pieces as I don't think the Leafs will re-sign Kane nor AA the Chicago 2nd is for taking on all that money
Seriously, you do not want him to put up big numbers this year.He can be Holl's replacement next year. PK goes where PK wants to go, but he's not the 100 point PK anymore that you might be thinking of and he still gets paid a lot of money for a guy that might not hit 60 points this year. He controls his future and if he wants to play out the string in Chicago and go to Buffalo as a UFA then he will. If he thought the Leafs would be interested he would have his agent working to make the deal happen(only of course if the league wants it)! That said Patrick Kane grew up a Sabres fan and has a real healthy dislike for all things Leaf.PK as in Patrick Kane? You’re going to need a whole lot more than that package to acquire him lol
I'd like to see where he stands in the pts/60. Gotta be top 10 at least. So 18th in the league for pts/GP from D?
He was actually the first pick in the second round, but still very highly touted obviously.Injuries have slowed his development but you can see why he went in the first round. Hopefully he stays healthy and keeps this up.
Douglas was too big and physical we can't have that. Why not trade any of the vanilla
Smurfs we have? Always the same with this gm..
Douglas could have made a fine 4C eventually
Thanks for the correction I thought he was the last pick of the first round. He was actually the first pick in the second round, but still very highly touted obviously.
He would have been if Seattle joined sooner! Thanks for the correction I thought he was the last pick of the first round.
His value also jumped after being drafted. Had a great WJC tournament and OHL season before the injuries started, where at the time he was being talked about as a big steal in the 2nd round. He was actually the first pick in the second round, but still very highly touted obviously.
Dude has good vision and the hands to make a pass. That sauce to Marner in the O-zone was slick. Too bad Marner flubbed it though haha.
Good dude. Credit Dubas.
