Elite vision but his defensive zone coverage is poor and he plays soft with mediocre skating.

He reminds me of a smaller Cody Franson which isn't a good thing.

Could he evolve into a #4 guy? Possibly but only if he makes significant improvements in his overall game. His future is probably a PP specialist.

Franson was a legit top 4 guy for a few seasons. I'd personally be pleased if that's what he becomes

if they run 11-7 or if they send down Gio they can do 12-6

Ideally, they send Reaves down and he gets claimed, but I know that won't happen.

Hypothetically if Reaves was not on the roster they could have 12-7 with Holmberg and Robertson at forward (55k to spare).

I think you can waive Reaves and he shouldn't get claimed, 3 yr contract. I would begin the season that way.

Franson was a top-4 defenseman in exactly one and a half seasons: on a terrible 2013-14 and 2014-15 Leafs team.

Timmins may very well just be another Franson, but let's hope he's more than that.

Franson sucked. Better then Lebda though. Teams, not just the Leafs, make that mistake of signing guys paired with legit Allstar D all the time, then find out not so good without Chelios on the other side.

I mean he's had zero seasons as a regular NHLer so far. If they can get 1.5 top four seasons plus a few as a good #5, that's a win in my eyes.

On the backend, for sure - but I don't think he surpasses Marner in terms of passing ability.

I still remember the game where he scored haha. The GDT was like Lebda????? There were memes of Lebad evolving into Lebda.

People forget sometimes how good our roster is when they say the team sucks or regular season doesn't matter. Regular season only doesn't matter because we take it for granted with our current roster. There will be a day where these same folks will pray to at least be playing meaningful games in March
