Maybe Marner should just start throwing some cheap shots because playoff hockey basically encourages that stuff
Or you know maybe effort once or twice a game and a goal every 18 playoff games would be awesome too for a top 5 paid player. I agree tho one power play goal in the last 72 games is too much to ask.

His Delay of Game penalty this year had nothing to do with being scared. Stupid? Absolutely. But not scared
He has 6 over the glass pentlys the last few playoff series man. He’s scared of contact. Nothing else explains it

Lol what?! Did you not see marner this playoffs? He did that multiple times cuz he’s soft as hell
Marner had 4 minutes in penalties so the most he could have done it is twice. But actually it was half that because he had a tripping penalty.

Maybe in some of the past examples, but like I said, this years wasn't one of them

I think that this year, especially the playoffs, was awful to watch for everyone involved.

I also think cooler heads should prevail, and we'll see what this team looks like next year.

What magical trade actually makes sense for the long term?
There is no magical trade that will fix everything. This team needs a gm/coach combo that understands playoff hockey.

If your a Leafs fan then “same s**t, different day” is a more than familiar mantra. I’m masochistic enough to continue following the team, but at least I’m not paying for season tickets, that’s a completely different level of torture.........
Tickets are easy money. They are always easy to get rid of.

How do you know what they're doing? The Finals haven't even started yet ffs, but you know what they are doing moving forward?
Because I keep up with my team and they’ve said what their plans are regarding the big 4. This isn’t some kind of privileged information.

Real fans of the team are understandably upset.

The result are quite simply unacceptable.
Being upset isn't the issue.

This place thrives off of discussion and truthfully there is always very little over the summer. The direction of the team is largely decided already in keeping the big 4 - so the next 4 months will just be bickering on whether or not that was the right call with name calling and misinformation/positioning. At least previously there was more to dissect on building out the D, reasons for the playoff losses, some more substantial changes to the roster and/or direction of the team.

It is already is hostile, frustrating and just tiring to be here right now.

For those curious on what I'd do with this team - personally I'd move on from Marner at the very least, keep Dubas and Keefe for a year then reevaluate. I'd increase the speed and pace we play at, I'm not as focused on size as others.

There's lots of discussion on Marner.

He's the only one of the big-four with his own active thread.

I’d change the GM.
I understand people’s reservations to move a core player if it isn’t done right.
A new GM doesn’t have to come in and move anyone to start.
Someone who didn’t sign the contracts, make the promises or is your buddy.

The new expectations can be set, coaching changes if necessary. Evaluation of everyone from a new start. Who wants to be here. The style and identity of a team, not of a few individuals.

A fresh perspective.
Dubas is stunned in the headlights because he bet his job on the core and is paralyzed to address it if need be because of it. He’s gone to far to admit failure on any level. He has to be removed before we can proceed with change.

Saying and doing are two different things. Shanny spewing the same bs his players spew. Talk is cheap.

nah unfortunately lebraun confirmed that’s what the leafs are telling other teams behind the scenes too.

selfish bitch boy marner is here to stay for atleast one more season

he’s the only one who demanded Matthews/Mcdavid money or else he would play in Europe or sign an offer sheet.

he’s as selfish as it gets. Cares about his money more then winning.

Marner s**t the bed, but let’s be honest he’s certainly not 5he only player who isn’t earning his pay check. Oh, and does anyone think Campbell can delivery the goaltending to go deep into the playoffs? Because that’s another Grand Canyon sized hole that needs fixing with no money to do so........

Let someone who is actually qualified to run a team make decisions on what players to keep, and which ones need to go.

I'm fine with Dubas making the move, but I know I'm in the minority at the moment.

I don't think you "win" a Marner trade, but you generate assets and opportunity to build a more aligned lineup going forward.
