Do you have doubts as to whether the Maple Leafs can flip the switch in the playoffs and prove that they are winners?

They proved last year in the playoffs that they are winners.
Bro I was kidding they suck shit and none of that is true (other than the goal scorer part)

Divine, the leafs have the least cap space in the league lol. Every team has a 23 man roster, that’s not some big fix.
I hate to post this, but Colorado, LA, Ottawa, Pittsburg, Rangers, Edmonton, Dallas, Calgary, Philadelphia, Florida and Arizona have 22-player rosters.

Anaheim has 21.

But only one team, Tampa Bay, has 20.

Stanley cup contender? They are on a 3 game losing streak and are about to play Edm, Cal, Van & Wpg twice. Det, TB, NYI, NJD behind them by 1-3 pts. Strong likelihood they will be out of a playoff position by the en

Holy f*** three game losing streak? And a bunch of teams with more games played and less points behind them? Strong likelihood they're in the Celebrini derby post haste!

This video is a pretty decent breakdown how soft the Leafs are defensively. How the coach is not fired is beyond me.

The coach was fine defensively last year. What changed? Hmmmmmm

This is not even remotely true.

Did you even look this up before you posted?

Even teams that run a 20 man roster (like TB is at the moment) don't have to run it the entire season unless you expect no one to get injured.

Usually what happens is - team runs 20 man roster, a player gets injured, goes on LTIR - the team increases the roster size with the cap space gained. That's what happened to the Leafs with Klingberg. Unless everyone is healthy at the same time, that's usually good enough to run with until the playoffs - where there's no cap.

Right now the Leafs have players against their cap that should be on LTIR (Reaves, Woll) simply because there's no benefit to putting them on LTIR because they'd still be over the cap and not accumulate cap space.

If they struggle on this road trip it’ll be interesting. At best they’ll have a razor thin margin while at worst their looking up at Detroit and/or Tampa, and have to deal with The Metro.
A solid road trip eases things but they need to be getting 2pts out of these games.

No need to be pedantic here. CapFriendly - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

23 man roster is the norm. There may be reasons you dip a man under it. 20 man skeleton rosters you barely ever see for more than a day or two. No need to act like 20 man roster is the norm to artificially act like the Leafs have all this cap space. Realistically the Leafs have to ride out their paper thin defense and shaky goaltending as far as it will take them.

Samsonov 0.863
Reimer 0.893
Husso 0.893

Our goalies are right behind him!
.3 is a massive difference, think of the difference between your goalies and
Helle at 924
Daccord 924
Swayman 922
Demko 919

And realize that's the SAME difference between them and Samsonov who has been so putrid that a 3 goal game for him is basically a shutout at this point.

What are you talking about? 34% of the league is under the 23 roster limit. Are we looking at the same thing? You said every team in the league is running a 23 man roster.

You're saying the Leafs have the least cap space while other teams are running shorter rosters - yet you're also arguing shortening the roster is not an option for the Leafs. You're all over the place here.

The Leafs don't have the least cap space if you look at 23 man rosters as many teams don't have them. As of this moment, 11 teams out of 32 are not running a 23 man roster - which is 34% of the league, including nearly all the top teams.

Teams currently under the 23-man roster:

Vancouver
Colorado
Vegas
Ottawa
Pittsburgh
Boston
NYR
Edmonton
Florida
Arizona
Buffalo

They proved last year in the playoffs that they are winners.
They proved their winners by… getting crushed in a 5 game series to an 8th seeded team in the 2nd round?

While I enjoy knowing this Leaf team will win NOTHING until they get stars willing to pay the price when the games get tough, as a Hawk fan myself it is crucial that Toronto finish ahead of Tampa. (Chicago has Tampa’s 1st rd pick).
