Waive Khudobin, bring up McIntyre.

McIntyre's only appearances are in relief of Rask. Never started a game from what I can recall.

Sent down for AHL all-star weekend, Khudobin recalled.

Khudobin sent back down.

Once again, Zane's only appearances are in relief, zero starts.

Send Zane back down, recall Khudobin.

Rask still fatigued.

****** this is amateur level stuff.

Either get Zane in for some real playing time or go out a get a REAL back up goalie as other teams have done off of waivers.

It's not rocket science, and this has been as issue for YEARS!

Yes, back in October/November.

I was talking about his 2017 recall. You know, the one where they waived Khudobin.

If they were going to use last Oct/Nov to make a determination on him, why even bring him up. :shakehead

Could either guy look worse with the Bruins? Both of them have like one solid outting.

While I'm a believer in DS when it comes to drafting, his rounding out of the roster has been so horrible that it's almost hard to blame him. Well, in this case anyway...

I mean, could Dobie and Mac perform worse? Is it even possible?

I've had enough of Mac already. Face grinding against the ice on that Toronto back breaker...step the eff up, for once.

This team is incapable of the big save for long stretches. A gaffe = a goal. It's demoralizing.

Screw it...maybe the veteran will finally step up.

I'd tell him to get his game face on...or he can ride the bus for the rest of the year and we'll play Essensa.

This is ridiculous.

I totally supported bringing up McIntyre back in January and waiving Khudobin.

But had I known the only appearances McIntyre would get would be in relief of Rask, I would of said keep Zane in Providence. How can you possibly evaluate (Sweeney's favorite word) a goaltender based only on relief appearances?

This is amateur level stuff. And Sweeney admits he's looking for outside back-up goaltending help. Meanwhile his fellow GMs are now trying to bend him over knowing by this point he's totally desperate and has the worst back-up goaltending in the league.

Agree with this (and don't miss the creepy Billy G avatar much ). At this stage, I think the team knows that both Zane and Subban have some work to do, and honestly, I didn't expect to see either of them up this season. Better to have left Zane down to continue developing. This season is what it is at this point, and I'd prefer to see them just finish out with Dobby as the backup instead of give up some sort of future asset for a backup that we might not need next year. I still like Zane and think he can be something- play out the season in Providence, a summer with Essensa, training camp, and he might be ready for our bench and 25-30 starts. Same scenario could be in play for Subban.

There are also expansion draft implications, no?

I figured folks would appreciate not seeing it again. I know Guerin isn't exactly popular around here (I was and am a huge fan of Guerin) Can't promise it won't be back, maybe a different Guerin avatar next time.;)

For now, I'm going to ride out a variety of Cassidy avatars until the B's final game this season.

Do you have some insider info you'd like to share?

Isn't it also the coaches decision to pick the starting goalie? Or does Sweeney dictate who plays and who sits? Im fuzzy on this. Perhaps they see that Zane wasn't getting any gameplay and sent him down to get some?

No insider info, but Sweeney said he's sought outside help in the form of a back-up goaltender but hasn't been able to find a trade fit.

His Eastern compatriots probably are wary dealing with him considering every Eastern team is still in the race.

Out West, you can be certain GMs who would consider moving a back-up are looking at Sweeney's 1 win from his back-ups and trying to squeeze something good out of him, hoping he bites.

And it is the coaches who choose who starts and when. Claude's management of his goaltenders the last three years has been questionable at times.

I'd say were looking at Khudobin the rest of the way. Probably for the best at this point.

I should think so- if my thinking is right, they didn't have anyone else that would be expansion draft eligible after they decided not to renew monster. And hey, if Dobby can pull it together the rest of the way maybe Vegas takes a chance on him with his minimally sized contract and opens a spot for Zane or Subban to have a real shot at making the team next year.

Not sure why they'd be wary dealing with him. The next time Sweeney fleeces anyone in a trade will be the first.

So with two straight wins under his belt how has our backup situation changed? He looked a little shaky to start but played really good last night afterwards. Do we still look for outside help? If so where? Do we keep him as our backup for the rest of the season?

For the record we have 3 back to backs remaining.
