People just have a hate on for Keefe regardless of what he does or says. It's nauseating.

My only comment would be, though what he said is true, you are the home team and supposedly the better team. You have to find a way to get it done.
The bolded is the key here.

That's 3 in a row goaltending has Blown and under normal circumstances I wouldn't even be saying that about tonight because Samsonov was OK, he even made a couple BIG saves.

But It's Samsonov he will find a way to blow it, and in the end he did, like he has all season.
Like it or not, the Leafs arguably have the worst goaltending in the league. Putrid

Almost looks like they're playing to get Keefe fired, like under Babcock his last few weeks...Or they're really just that bad.
I think they are just that bad.

Individually, we got great players in AM, MM, Willie, JT, Reilly, to lesser extend, Knies, Bert, Domi, Calle, even Kampf as a defensive specialist. McCabe, Lilly, Beniot might not be great but they get the job done as bottom 3 Dmen.

But they don't play like a team. When they do, they are one of the best in the league.
This all comes down to Keefe's coaching.

Say what you want about Babs but Babs' Leafs plays more structure and system. Now do and can the players do the stuff is another story.

Keefe really relies on the top guys to take over games and win instead of building a team that win with the top guys.

McCabe icing versus Islanders.
McCabe giveaway tonight by his own net for a goal against.
Giordano pass to the opposition while killing a penalty for a goal against.
Brodie lifting his skate letting a pass through for a goal against.
Mental errors leading to losses.

Yep, and all of them were unforced. Other instances where they are trying so hard to maintain puck possession instead of just clearing the zone and escaping danger. Coaching staff wants them to reverse back, pass pass pass out of the zone even when they're tired

Having said all that, the offense has been pretty bad lately.
-Reached 3 goals early in the 2nd vs the Isles and then a whole lot of nothing
-3 goals in the first and then maybe a couple of chances after that vs the Avs
-only 2 goals tonight against a defensive tire fire

Keefe and Dubas are similar in that they only know forwards and have no clue from blueline on back. What the hell was that fire drill on the Raymond GWG?
That fire drill happens because Liljegren plays the puck weakside, when he is the weakside D... Had he gone strong side out or just held onto it and made a play the game comfortably goes to OT. This Leafs defense is so bad that it belies logic.

I know it’s already been said, but seriously, after this game, no way Keefe should have a job. Putting the lines in a blender tonight of all nights, with Samsonov in net, was the most stupid decision I’ve seen from a Leaf coach. To start a game the way they did, disinterested for most of the game, can indirectly be blamed on the coach.

Indirectly???

Right there, why can't they just coach the team to make simple play that any NHLers can do.

I almost wish this team would fall out of the playoffs this year because it would improve the value of the 1st rounder and force the team to sell rentals at the deadline and retool with more assets in the summer. However, I fully expect the team to hold onto the 3rd seed in the Atlantic and embarrass themselves in R1.

I think it’s a bit of both. I believe the core love playing for Keefe as they basically have a hall pass to do whatever they want with no consequences. Other half have probably tuned him out and would prefer a coach with a backbone.

Lily wasn't great on that play, but he probably saw Kampf (lol 4th line on the ice) and thought he'd come down low for support, but instead he stopped in front of the net, where McCabe was heading. Strong side wasn't an option because the winger was covered.

But yeah, the play was probably to eat the puck.

If you watch the replay Gregor is pointing at him to go that direction, kampf stops for whatever reason instead of supporting him, had kampf continued to the corner it would have been a clean breakout
