That's a slam dunk trade for the Rangers. Absolutely fleeced the Ducks.

Trouba is beyond washed. His contract is awful and he had the Rangers over the barrel with his No trade list.

Yet the Ducks give up assets to take his entire contract. Anaheim is not a serious organization and every GM should be trying to further fleece Verbeek into taking on their garbage.

The cap hit is irrelevant to Anaheim.
Trouba - while definitely Trouba - is still serviceable enough as a vet and leader for a team that is still young and receptive to some insulation.
There is a place called free agency where you can find serviceable dman without giving up assets and 8 mill a year as well.

If Anaheim needed a serviceable dman they should have signed more than 0 free agents

Surprised by the reaction in here. I think people would be surprised by how many GM's would take Trouba on their team.

Anaheim didn't give up much, they get a hard nosed defenseman & leader to help with their young group. Only 1 more year left on his deal after this one, so its not like its a long term contract at this point.
HF isn’t real life. In HF world, no gm wants anyone and late 1st round picks are worth more than McDavid

League low in points and league high in suspensions. Sounds good :snide:
Could you imagine a worst case scenario where both of them go caveman on you at the same time. Gudas plows your legs out with one of his low hip checks and trouba hits you with his signature elbow strike or heat seeking human missile moves.

I should've known that the meatball dunces known as NHL GMs still coveted Trouba and other "hard-to-play-against" players in certain corners. This is why the Rangers keep getting these ridiculous bailouts for players that they should pay assets to go away.

You don't think Oscar Dansk, Jansen Harkins, Carson Meyer, and Tomas Suchanek was the steal of the off-season?

The other thread got locked, but I'll repeat what I said there....

Trouba has to be furious, right? Wife is still a Dr in NY and that was one of the key reasons for the original move to NY? And they just had a baby earlier this year?
He could always try find something local

After Leo Carlsson got pushed into the net and Zegras Slewfooted . This needed to happen. Trouba on the team, opposing teams goons will think twice about going after the Ducks kids.

He just has to hit the crap out of everyone.
