Verbeek is trash. Why on earth would he do this? Not even salary retention.

It does I guess balance out their LHD/RHD, if you want to look at it purely from a paper point of view. Not sure the Ducks really care about the salary either.

It was always odd to me that the Ducks were going with this whole “we are going to keep all our young defenders up on the NHL squad and rotate them” strategy they seemed to start the year. This I guess kind of puts things back in order where Lacombe slides down to the extra spot that Vaak had. Fowler-Monty-Dumo as LHD and Zell-Trouba-Gudas as RHD. Luneau stays in San Diego all season. Helleson for deep depth.

Its is kind of oddly constructed though that all of Fowler, Trouba and Gudas have a year left AFTER this year as it feels like it keeps things clogged up into 25-26. I guess you can always deal Fowler but they’ve made their bed on the right side with Trouba and Gudas for the next two seasons.

As a life long Rangers fan I wouldn’t wanna play for a Drury team. Between Goodrow and now Trouba that’s no way to treat your players. Almost makes me think the team is giving up on him.

This is always said when trades happen like this or drama goes down and yet players always want to come here. They play in the most famous city on earth, which is incredibly attractive for foreigners. They play at the most famous arena in the USA. They get first class treatment above and beyond almost any other NHL organization. Players will always want to come here.

Trouba has to be furious, right? Wife is still a Dr in NY and that was one of the key reasons for the original move to NY? And they just had a baby earlier this year?
