I have been lurking on the backroung for two years now (Yes I am a fanboy) and this game got me finally register myself. This game was lost because of PoMo, he made three crucial mistakes:
1) Offside challenge. Probably it was video coach that told to challenge but PoMo should also keep eyes open and at the end it is his call.
2) Helly should have been pulled at some point
3) It seems that he is stubborn about TOI. It doesn't really matter if some line is hot and some is a garbage fire he just goes as before. ESL-line is on bargain now capwise and he doesn't utilize it at all. If you look a market value there is 20+ M caphit playing 13:30 mins 5 on 5. This a luxury that Jets can not afford in future.

That's sounds almost poetic.

But it's also the truth.
With offence that deep there is absolutely no reason to kill Scheif and Wheels before playoffs. Especially if they are having a bit off night, they have been great overall not denying that. Playoffwise it looks that the defence is just too thin. There is absolutely now room for injuries and Toby... well we all know his history with injuries.

Our defense was hilarious that's all i can say about it. Well there was something really good thinks in the game. Chef showed Subban who is the boss in the building. Didn't expect him to chicken that badly but he did. Solid job by Chef. He basically whooped Subban's ass without even touching his face. 1-0 for us. Statsny was excellent player, he has highest vision in our team with wide margin.

Welcome aboard Vekke - good to see you broke down and registered-- we need all the good commentators we can get !!!

I agree with all your comments--especially that Helle should have been pulled. When you let in easy goals thru your pads--it's time they pull him. He let in 2 soft goals, and was the major reason why the Jet's lost this game. I believe his Save % was like around .84 % -- just not near good enough.

The Jets went 7-4-1 (without Trouba and overplaying Helle) for February and just landed a VERY good player.

I predict they take 19 out of a possible 30 points in March.

Yup, pull him in a game you are still VERY much in against the team you have to go through in the playoffs.
Rinne should have been pulled too?
The next backup I want to see is named Mason.

Hey Ducky--I think we really missed Trouba in that game- sign him up for 8

Helle-also played terrible, and should have been pulled. Letting in soft goals thru your pads is not what All Star goaltenders are supposed to do.

I'd like them to start Hutch next game- he's played well--and or maybe Mason.

The funny thing about Little is he was rough the first 20-25 games of the season. While ELL was a line, he got bashed on here and by really most Jets fans. Then all the sudden he starts playing better, producing more, Scheifele goes down, PLE was good, nobody talks about Little bad or good, Wheeler plays 1C and while producing was struggling at times, especially with matchups, Little was doing a better job then he got credit for. Scheifele comes back and PLR looks good. Now Little has been rough again for 3-4 games and he is getting bashed already again...... cherry on top is people saying he has nothing on offence anymore and brings down his line, playing 2C mins and PP2 and still on a 48 point pace. Not too bad. 2 points below what I wanted him at as a 2C. Goals down a bit though..... funny. His worst game of the year maybe as a Jet tonight though. And his inconsisent season has me worried as he still has not looked like Little of last year and prior. But the hate/bashing is funny, especially by new fans of the last year or 2. He is pretty much the 3C now, regardless of his play just look at the lines, but as a 3C playing against other 3rd lines and probably taking the best matchups once we are fully healthy, he needs to be better. He may never be the Little of last year and past, but he needs to atleast be like the Little of when Scheifele was out for us to make a run

Mason is recovering from a concussion...I'd guess he plays against the Rags or Devils next week.

I'd love to be sitting back like Mason, taking in his $ 4 mil per year contract, without playing hardly any games this year. Also he'll pull down another $ 4 mil next year. Man it can be a really tough life for some people !!!

i agree with the first and third points. you cant pull helle in this game as the goals he let in that were soft were the 4th and 5th.. you just gotta ride it out and hope he doesnt f*** up any more. if he pulls him there that would show no confidence in him and prolly cause tension. not to mention putting a cold hutch into such a crazy game. just one of those let him play and deal with the outcome games.

id also start hutch. not because i think hes good or gives us a better chance to win. but bc i dont want to run helle to hard until late march to get him in the groove let him sit and be pissed off about this loss for a bit and let it be motivation!!

but they might start him to try and get him the franchise wins record lol

I have to stick to my opinion about pulling Helly. Goalies get pulled sometimes, it is part of the game. It isn't just a signal to the goalie that you have not done good job, it is a message to the whole team. To me it seems that one of the biggest problems in PoMo is that he seems to treat players according to what reads in the back of shirt, not according the performance in the rink. There should be some consequenses if you play good or bad, now you know where you stand no matter what you do.

Would you love the concussions, too?
______________________________________________________

I have to wonder about all these so called concussions here Ducky ?? When hockey was played in the 70's and 80's --there was never anyone out with a "concussion." Nobody ever died from any of these ??

Also back in the 50's and 60's guys played Goal with "no face mask"- and also got hit in the face--nobody died.

I think their being to soft on these concussions--that's my opinion.

It's tough to know where to draw the line on these types of things ?? I wonder if some players take advantage of this protocol a bit ??

Anyways, play Hutch against the Wings this Friday-is my call.

I think most have been said already. What a disappointing loss that could have been a win.

TOI distribution is ridiculously bad. We are up by two goals and play our worst defensive line to the ground while the hottest line is on the ice for 11 minutes. This was such a garbage performance from the coaching staff that I am out of words.

Stas is great! 1+1 in his debut. Nice job. That line looks really good.

Buff doesn't go for the Laine one-timer with 30 seconds left on the clock. Wake up dude. Other than that he had an excellent game.

Coaching seems to be by far the weakest link at the moment.

I would bet that within the pool of retired veteran players of helmetless eras, life expendancy is much lower then in general populace on average. I'm also pretty sure that average occurence of Parkinson, Alzheimer, and other mind/memory diseases are on dramatically higher level than in general population. Sure there was concussions in the past eras too, but they made no sound about them.

And... in the sub-cast of players, among hockey enforcers, it's evident that there has been death cases that can be linked directly to their past hockey careers. Painkiller overdosings, suicides etc.

Are you serious?
Might want watch the movie "Concussion" to see how harmful they can be, if you get multiple concussions.

Yup. Little hasnt been good

Turns out the problem with ELL was Little.

Little is not the reason CSW being a defensive nightmare. Also the main problem with Little in ELL was not Little being not good enough, but he just played vastly different game than Ehlers and Laine so they did not mesh well. PLR has been mostly good and PLE was even better.

It's so sad that you cannot defend 3-5 lead and those same guys are on the ice all the time with expected result. And I don't mean Little.
