I question someone loving anything when your results are the worst amongst your peers over your time involved. Bad luck plays a role, but I'm not babyfacing him just because he watches practices in fancy new glasses with his dog.

People are arguing he ignores the Sabres and just focuses on the Bills? I didn’t know that.

It’s hard to keep all the conspiracy theories straight. He meddles too much, he’s cheap, he ignores the team, etc.

He’s done a bad job hiring people to run hockey ops. There are slightly different reasons why in each case. But at the end of the day thats what the problem has been. His poor hiring of GMs/POHO. The rest is just baseless speculation fed by Sabres twitter and various forums.

So we know he isn't an owner who stands back and lets his people work.

how about the countless videos of him in scouting meetings and in the room on deadline day

I suspect/believe that this "communication" requirement that comes up in all their major hirings, is a disqualifier for hiring good executives/coaches with experience. Lou Lamoriello, Don Waddell, and Barry Trotz arent going to want to be required to dumb everything down and explain themselves (and run "ideas" back and forth with) Terry Pegula every day.

Kevyn Adams? Sure. There was no way this guy would sniff a similar position otherwise. Lindy Ruff likely was out of stops and is comfortable here.

Maybe I'm wrong. 13 years of watching this, and paying attention to their words makes me feel this way.

If I owned the Sabres, I guarantee you that I'd be around all the time. I'd be FASCINATED with how things work and how decisions were made. Doesn't mean I'd be actively participating in every discussion.......just that I'd be around.

The Buffalo Bills are restructuring their front office again, but this time they are bolstering instead of blowing up.

With a new stadium being built across Abbott Road and owner Terry Pegula moving closer to selling a portion of the team, the Bills needed to add to their executive leadership team after years of upheaval and front-office chaos.

The Bills hired Milwaukee Brewers executive Jason Hartlund as chief commercial officer and Major League Baseball executive Kate Hussmann as chief strategy officer. As senior vice presidents, they will join chief administrative officer Josh Dziurlikowski and chief legal officer Terry Gilbride and report to executive vice president and chief operating officer Pete Guelli.

“These moves fit the vision,” Guelli said Thursday in his One Bills Drive office. “This is the way I think a 21st century NFL team, with these kinds of projects on the horizon, needs to be set up.”

Just four and a half years ago, the Bills had eight executive vice presidents and one senior VP. The Bills now have five senior VPs and one executive VP (Guelli). He said there won’t be any more additions to the Bills’ leadership group.

Similar front-office hires and restructuring will eventually happen with the Buffalo Sabres, and there is no intention of bringing back the Pegula Sports and Entertainment umbrella model that was dissolved in August 2023. Hartlund and Hussmann are Bills-only employees, although Guelli conceded Hussmann’s skill set could apply to some Sabres work.

This is an interesting development to watch. Especially with the hints that something similar might happen on the Sabres side.
