Vanecek makes the most sense from a Devils’ perspective, but they can also ship him elsewhere, doesn’t necessarily have to be to the Jets. Los Angeles needed to clear cap for Dubois so Durzi went to Arizona. He wasn’t forced on Winnipeg.

I have to admit to some emotional reasoning with Schiefele. In many ways, he represents the hope of Jets 2.0. I still believe on him. I just hope he still believes in us.
What about a 3 team deal between NSH-Jets-Devils if Helle is dealt?
Askarov, Helle and Marino or Holtz as the main parts with teams adding to balance the deal?

Other than Devils, not sure the other teams are interested even with other players and picks involved.

I'd hope we could get more than just Askarov for Helle. He's never really impressed me when I've watched him. Seems like a less remarkable Berdin.
Jets give Helle (retain 1.17m) and get Askarov and Jersey's 1st rounder, a 3rd from NSH and a 4th from Jersy.
NSH gives up Askarov and a 3rd and gets Holtz.
Jersey gives up Holtz, a 4th and a 1st?

Nashville was trying to get a top 10 pick for Askarov. They would easily say no.

I wonder if LA could come back in for Hellebuyck later in the summer. They're about $750k over the cap right now. They need another D contract on the roster.

Askarov was part of a proposal for MTL's first. That was reported before the draft.
Sounds like Nashville was fishing if they want something significant for Askarov

Holtz is a better prospect than Askarov imo.
Top 50, similar to Lucius, McGroarty, probably Lambert now too.

Maybe an assumption on my part that he wasn't doing too well. I figured if he was involved in any talks and Devils fans were willing to deal him that says something.
Looks like he had a solid pt/gm in AHL and is a pure sniper. That 6 points in his first 27 games is likely where the concern is coming from.
Chevy does like his players to have excellent shots, so I could see how he would be a fit here.

I had a whole thing typed up about goalies and their value compared to players that got lost to the internet so I'll just summarize it as goalies don't seem to have the same value as a player does when it comes to impact on the game and the season and the trade market and their contracts demonstrate as such.

I would assume he's taking about Helle. Goalies historically return very little in value in trades even with term left.
