they are calling it a buyers market for wingers on tsn right now, dreger again saying we been checking in on toffoli eberle zucker and we need to pay attention to chevy because he will add

None of those seem to fit the going for the fences mantra though.

I dont hate that Carolina is making lots of adjustments. They are a fun team to watch TBH. I am just not super sold on the goaltending.

Teams have shown time and again that they're very willing to gamble their playoff run with hit or miss goaltending. All it takes is one guy to have a hot streak and I guess GMs like to gamble

Don't think its going to be overly exciting today, most big moves already made. Probably just a bunch of small stuff last minute.

Monahan has been good don't get me wrong but what a steal for Carolina to pick up Guentzel for that price. Two different leagues of players and Carolina just gave up a bunch of meh for him.

Yeah sucks watching all these moves and all these teams get even better. Wonder what is left in the scrap pile that Chevy will get

I think Monahan served to catch us up with the front runners, but they are pulling away again. We need another move.
Exactly.
Carolina doesn't even give up a first round pick if they don't make the cup final. Obviously we weren't on the radar but how did no other team have a better offer. Teams aren't even giving up big prospects or picks in these trades. Why are we not doing anything?

I mean shouldn't this comment be saved until after the deadline is over?

I wouldn't trade a premium asset for anyone currently on the trade board. That said, there is are good arguments for swinging for the fences:

- Scheifele and Bucky are going to be 31 years old in few days/months. Lowry, Nino, Names, and most of our back-end are in the same boat.
- We have 2 more years of Connor and 1 more year of Ehlers
- We already traded our 1st this year for Monahan, who could be a pure rental so in that sense we are already "going for it"
- Prices seem extremely low so we could add virtually anyone on the board with the exception of Toffoli without parting with any additional premium assets (1st, MTL's 2nd or A prospects)
- If not now, when? Jets are a top 5 team in points percentage and top 10 in all the fancy stats.
