I think Chevy is truly sensitive to how a new player might "fit" with the actual roster as well. He does not want to disrupt what he perceives to be a tightly knit group who have a good team chemistry.

Beyond that, he obviously is looking for a "fit" based upon type of player the coach covets, as well as one that fits contractually. I`m reasonably sure he is not looking for a rental per se but rather a player with term or a player he believes he can sign multi year.

OK, so who might fit that description?

Is Toffoli confirmed. I'd hate to get excited over nothing. If so then on to a RD and maybe a grit bottom 6 type so teams don't push us around if we make the playoffs.

I'd like him but my guess is those that missed on Guentzel are all in on him now.

Then those that miss on Toffoli will pivot to Zucker, and so on. That describes a sellers market. This does not seem to be that.

I disagree 17-18 was deeper. We were also much better down the middle that year.

The options now for the top 6 is pretty amazing, i think i could put together 2 good lines.

17-18 was miles ahead of this year's group.

I'm not getting info up to date here. TSN running in the background, supposed to be live. Just replayed Chevy interview, now talking about Kuznetsov. I go to the page and there have been a few moves since Kuznetsov and they haven't mentioned any yet.
