This thread man.

Trade connors

Trade ehlers

ESV wasn’t dominant enough in Jan vs Dec

What does “Now” mean - maybe Chevy thinks Now is in 5 years.

We don’t need any adds - the team is perfect.

Let’s blow it up. This team is garbage.

Best year in franchise history - best team jets/thrashers have EVER had - but maybe think we’ll peak in 2 years.

It’s a whirlwind - I can’t keep up!

Does anyone else think Chevy might go after Lawson Crouse from the Yotes?

Already has 20 goals this season. Big body. Good defensively. Adds size and goal scoring to our middle 6, specifically the 2nd line. Signed for a few more years at $4.3M cap hit with no trade protection.

Chevy has liked him since his draft year. Wanted to draft him, settled for Connor after he was selected 11th overall.

This won’t be a popular take, but I can see Ehlers going the other way, and based on his contract length and value, Jets might have to add a bit by retaining a bit of salary. Maybe Bones and Chevy might like to insulate Perfetti for the playoffs.

If Perfetti struggles during playoffs, I can see Bones switching him with Iafallo.

Doubtful Crouse is available.

I get where this is coming from. More size in the lineup come playoff time is better. Seems like a great add if cost is reasonable.

And Ehlers is a lot better than Crouse imo... That's probably the reason is won't be popular haha.

Why would the Coyotes want Ehlers. He can walk in a year. I'd think they'd want someone with more term if going for now players.

I say the chances the Jets trade a roster players are slim. The chance to have acquired Crouse would have been couple years ago.

This team was top 5 in GF rate at 5v5 and top 10 overall for essentially half the season, fueled by depth, and a great top line for a good chunk of it yet changing and moving so many contributors.

That to. We also really can't afford another expensive bottom 6 player imo.
Totally.

4 mil for iafallo.

6 mil for Schmidt on bottom pairing.

Definitely an odd year with few players on ELCs or league mins.

Next year with Rutger and Lambert should help that - woulda been nice to slide Chisholm on that bottom pairing next year. Sigh.

Ya, Yotes would likely have to flip Ehlers in a year if he doesn’t resign, so would the value of flipping Ehlers be greater than the value of Crouse? Maybe. Depends on how he would play in the desert, likely in an elevated role.

Crouse appears to be a Chevy target (rumoured to be in deep trade discussions last summer), and makes the team bigger and harder to play against for a playoff run. Ehlers playing style doesn’t seem to be a fit with the coaches.

Just seems like a Bones and Chevy play.

I would do Ehlers for Crouse all day long. Would probably require a small add from Wpg.

I think the idea of adding a bigger body phsical forward that can score is very solid. We don't have any of that in the top 6. I have a hard time thinking Crouse would be available but he would seem like a really good add. I wouldn't move Ehlers, and I would think the Yotes would want younger pieces anyway.
I'm a big fan of Perfetti, but in this scenario he's likley moved to the 4th. Which isn't as historically as bad as it was in the past as he would have a guy like Names as his centre and the other winger would likely be Barron or Iafallo.

Crouse - while has awesome size, and can get the greasy goals - has a career high 45 pts. He does not drive offence on his lines - and kinda has a peak David Clarkson vibe - high goal scoring, gritty, not fast.

I feel crouse would be complimentary to ehlers on a monahan crouse ehlers line.

He currently plays with bjigstad and maccelli which is kinda comparable to ehlers/monahan.

Might be better trading perfetti. I do think crouse is a feast or famine player offensively. We’re lighting pitchforks for ehlers on his drought - crouses could be longer.

But if we wanted that we already have it in Nino.

crouse is likely unavailable and would probably cost too much if he was, a player who would probably have a more reasonable price that could be a decent add is eberle and would allow us to run perfetti with names and iaffalo/barron who could potentially dominate their match ups against other teams 4th lines

The results that have KC scoring more points?

You can have your stats, I'd rather have someone that actually puts up the points on the ice.

No. The more complete stats that have Ehlers scoring more per minute of TOI.

So ........ you would rather have Ehlers, since he puts up more points on the ice per minute on the ice.

My sneaky add is Oliver Bjorgstrand from Seattle. Lucius for Bjorgstrand. Reunite Danish linemates for a new second line:

Ehlers - Monahan - Bjorgstrand

Makes the 4th line

Perfetti - Namesntnikov - Harkins/Kupari

Actually, I'd rather have the player that puts up points on the ice, not on paper but pretty much done with this debate. It is going in circles.

I thought Chevy tried this and Bjordstrand wouldn't waive...

All-star Oliver Bjorgstrand - yeah good luck getting an allstar.

We don’t have dump trucks full of money and prospects Seattle would obviously demand. We don’t got allstar money!

Sarcasm ended.

Not on paper? What are you talking about?

Connor puts up more of your "aCtUaL pOiNtS" because he plays a lot more than Ehlers per game. Per 60 minutes of time on ice, which is different from "per game", Ehlers puts up more points than Connor. This isn't rocket science.
