now that axel is down the jets currently have 2.6 million in cap space and a projected 4.6 at the deadline which will increase once gus is healthy
Going to guess that whatever the Flames wanted had Lambert in it. I don't see which worse prospect of ours they would have preferred (Brz is 19, which is huge given where the Flames are at), and Kuzmenko should be a much more valuable cap dump than anything we could have given them. Either that, or then it could have been another first rounder on top of the 2024 1st.
I think the Jets are close to being able to fit a player like Tanev under their cap at the TDL, with some room to spare (e.g. for Perfetti's performance bonuses).now that axel is down the jets currently have 2.6 million in cap space and a projected 4.6 at the deadline which will increase once gus is healthy
If the Flames were pushing for a defenseman, they are not settling for Stanley over Salo or Heinola. Also probably wanting a roster player up the food chain than Iafallo. The Canucks paid a big price, enough to back Chevy off.I heard Calgary really pushed for a top D prospect in the deal. Jets obviously not giving up on Salo or ville so probably the sticking point. Maybe 1st Iafallo, Stanley and something else. Iafallo not kuz either tho but 4 million cap so
Yeah, it appears to be a sellers market, with slim pickings at key positions compared to some years. All of the prices are so high this year.
Yikes! No thank you.

Half a years salary of Crosby....now that axel is down the jets currently have 2.6 million in cap space and a projected 4.6 at the deadline which will increase once gus is healthy
0% chance of that happening, think we would probably owe them some compensation for even asking if he was availableHalf a years salary of Crosby....
Yes, was a bit of a joke.0% chance of that happening, think we would probably owe them some compensation for even asking if he was available
Yeah i dont see anymore moves by Chevy barring injuries.
To be fair, we traded a first and second rounder for our current 7th DmanAgreed, way too much for a third pairing dmen.

If it was about getting a D prospect, then we didn't stand a chance in the first place. But if 1st + Heinola + dumps was enough, why oh why would they not pull the trigger...I heard Calgary really pushed for a top D prospect in the deal. Stan Chisholm Bauer Kuzmin - take any or all of them... the prospect Calgary got is nowhere close to HeinolaIf it was about getting a D prospect, then we didn't stand a chance in the first place. But if 1st + Heinola + dumps was enough, why oh why would they not pull the trigger...
Because that wasn’t enough as evidence by Calgary getting more from Vancouver. If it was about getting a D prospect, then we didn't stand a chance in the first place. But if 1st + Heinola + dumps was enough, why oh why would they not pull the trigger...
Plus Chisholm and Kovacevic waived and claimed to keep his fat ass parked in the press box.To be fair, we traded a first and second rounder for our current 7th Dman
