Unless they can convince him to waive I'd say that Carlo is likely a no go.

Hard to say really I don’t think it hurts to sell hard for one or two seasons like St Louis just did after their cup. Not a tank but they did load up on futures a bit.

Going All In has consequences as well, you end up like Columbus for a few years. Trying to be close to the top ten consistently gives you better odds in the long run. Every now and then you have a good run ( no injuries, luck, great ELC deals, TDL moves, hot goalie ). The presidents trophy winner rarely wins it.

I don’t think ending up like Columbus for two years or so is that bad. I mean full prolonged tank is not going to happen here.

Swayman replaces Helly. He even had better fancy stats than Connor last year. It looks like he can play. Would be a good test of those stats though, moving from last year's Bruins to the Jets.

Regardless, Swayman is the only Day 1 starter on the Bruins that we want that doesn't have a NTC of some sort. (including Zacha)

Really would love to grab Swayman and Carlo from the Bruins in a deal.

As mentioned, the Carlo thing has likely come and gone, as the Jets are most certainly on any version of a no trade list that he has submitted. He would have been an extremely nice piece on the blue line for the Jets and would help alleviate some of the issues at RD for the team.

I think the tricky thing with Boston is they are a team with not a ton in the cupboard and the Jets don't seem the want futures/picks, regardless. On the other hand, I don't see the Bruins wanting to put massive holes in their active lineup as they will be going for it again in the East.

The Marchand, Pasta, etc core window is obviously in the here and now.

I think Helle has been clear. He wants to contend for a Cup. Bringing in Broissot is mostly irrelevant to our Cup chances. I don’t think we are a contender at this point, so my guess is that nothing has changed for him.

If Boston is interested in Scheifele, it’s likely they’ll want to sign him long term. I don’t think they want to be in the exact same position again next summer.

Swayman would have to be a piece coming back, and while I would like either Lysell or Poitras included, neither are contributing roster players right now. If Chevy is looking for a contributing roster player then Frederic is probably a second piece. That is the reality of the situation

Probably something like Swayman, Frederic, 2025 1st and Poitras for Scheifele (extended) and maybe Stanley or Harkins.

Only caveat being unless Chevy knows he can pry a better contributing forward from another team in the Helleybuyck trade then Frederic wouldn’t need to be a key piece in the Scheifele deal.

Who that player is or if it’s even a possibility remains to be seen.

My bet is that jefe ( 55 ) re-signs, if the team needs to move him at the TDL, they can retain salary or trade with 3rd team, and get major assets. Jefe gets a contract, and we have a 1C until then and can plan on being competitive. Jets 3.0. ( Lambert, Lucius, Groot, barlow, Heinola, Chib ) wont be regulars for a couple of years yet.
