We definitely wouldn't match the Vancouver offer, given that they sent a good roster player the other way. Disappointing, but there are still lots of good trade targets for us.

As long as they don't panic and unload a 1st for a Monahan or something stupid, I am okay with even standing pat and adding on the margins instead of going "big game hunting".

Honestly just please don’t trade for Monahan I don’t want to waste any assets on him I’d rather stand pat hell I’d rather get Mark Stuart outta retirement before trading for Monahan

Oh boy. Vancouver got a lot better this year…..especially if they are still rounded to be getting tanev.

Gave up a late first, b prospect, a struggling player with upside and got to dump some cap…..I’m actually a little surprised no one beat that offer. Must be high on Kuz.

Nice trade by Vancouver. Didn’t cost a lot.

Yeah I highly doubt we got another soft rental center I think Chevy goes for someone off the board my prayer is Mitts but Monahan does nothing for us

Mitts, if he’s even on the table, will cost a lot. We are buying high there - I can only imagine this board if we actually make that trade.

Would love him too though.

He'd be tied for 2nd on our team in points. There's obviously more to it than points but that would definitely help us.
Most of the points are Pp1 he’s not taking any one spots and he’s not great defensively and to slow in my opinion I’d rather if we spend the assets go big

Honestly I don't think we've played that bad with Scheifele out. We've been snakebit but we've had good quality chances. Sometimes you're just unlucky.
We’ve play boring sound hockey - our lack of skilled players or game breakers has been exposed imo.

I really think the team is so bought in to structure that it’s hurting our pp. good pps are driven by creativity. They need to let go a bit more to break the box and get players out of position.

The team plays such predictable hockey. The only player that consistently surprises - and by that I mean I can’t call a pass or play before it happens, is ehlers and sometimes Morrissey. Scheifele when he is on also plays with creativity. I cringe thinking about watching the jets if ehlers is out of the line up.

The bottom pairing of Samberg and Schmidt is one of the best in the NHL, defensively.
They have been pretty solid. The key is finding that veteran defenseman (#6,#7) that is better than Stanley that can jump in when we get an injury or just fill in when someone needs a rest down the stretch.
I would have like Lindholm at the right price but I'm also kind of happy he's off the board

Chevy will pull a deal out of his ass that nobody saw coming
I’d rather have GIROUX.

C’mon Chevy, show Allvin how you play chess!

I don't think that's true. I think we've hit a cold patch and over correcting can do more damage than sticking the course. Having Scheifele in the lineup won't make Connor hit more of the grade A chances he's getting, he's just a streaky scorer. You can play that Toronto game 100 times and you wouldn't get shutout 99 of those times. If we're playing well and getting chances the goals will come. (Note this doesn't apply to the powerplay which continues to be a trainwreck)

This is what happened last year, we went on a stretch where we were getting chances but they weren't going in, then we tried to flip everything on its head and suddenly we weren't getting chances anymore in addition to not scoring.

Henrique has been my target for a while now. Solid defense to go with good faceoffs and some scoring touch. From a style of game perspective he's the ideal fit imo. Well Giroux would be better but he'd be very costly.

Yup, do people forget we went ice cold with him the lineup last year as well. This is just our shooting percentage correcting itself from earlier in the year where we scored well above expected.

I still think Chevy goes big game hunting for someone completely off the radar. With the team being this close I can’t see him standing still, and given his trade history most will be pleased with what he gives up.
