It’s criminal that Nazar doesn’t play on Michigan’s top powerplay but Michigan’s top powerplay is buzzing all the same against an overwhelmed UMass.

First college point for Oliver Moore with a powerplay assist to Jaxon Nelson (an undrafted 5th year senior). Moore entered the zone with speed and was able to make a nice drop pass to Nelson who finished with a pretty snipe.

ETA: Also first point for Sam Rinzel who picks up the other assist.

Nazar quiet tonight. Moores speed is a factor on every shift.

Moore just robbed on the pp, leads to a shorthanded goal against

also the energy in the building is insane, better than some NHL games

I actually watched the whole Minnesota game since I've never really seen Moore play. Moore's speed is obviously elite but his motor is what really stood out to me. He never gives up on pucks, can dump and chase and be the first to the puck. Could be a really nice forechecking compliment/puck retriever for Bedard.

He has good offensive instincts and is natural playmaker and has a good understanding of how his speed opens up space for his teammates. His off puck game in transition is high end as he really knows how to get open for outlet passes while winding up his speed. His teammates were unable to make those outlet passes either due to a lack of vision/skill or chemistry but if they can nail that down over time, Moore is basically a guaranteed zone entry every shift and can put defensemen on their heels on a whim. Decision making, especially offensively, leaves something to be desired tho. I saw him blindly throw the puck into a defender's shin pads on a 3-2, throw a very low percentage shot on goal instead of establishing zone possession on the power play, etc. You can even see it on that backhand assist. He tries to force the puck into the slot initally to someone who really wasn't open at all instead of relaying to the wide open point man and was fortunate that the puck bounced back to him the way that it did.

You cant teach the physical tools that he has and Moore does have decent instincts so hopefully as he matures he can put it all together. His tools are enough to seperate him at the NCAA level and he's almost a guaranteed NHL player because of them but when he becomes pro he's going to need to really refine his decision making if he's going to make it as a legit top 6 forward vs a third line energy guy. Either way, he is SUPER fun to watch.

Rinzel plays on PP1, which really surprised me but it'll be nice for his development. He's a lot more offensively oriented than I thought. He's creative and isn't afraid to take risks. He moves rather slowly (hands and feet) though and got burned 1v1 by a forward a couple of times and overall is not a great defender. Still a project but I see a lot of Tyler Myers here.

Nice first game for Rockford last night

The vet AHLers had a great game but our prospects as well

Commesso wins his pro debut stopping 34 of 36 shots

Teply Rolston and Hardman scored

Predominately Hawk future defence of Phillips DeMastro Allan Roos and Crevier were a combined +7

That +7 will get Fiddy’s pants shorter since that is his favorite stat.

Moore with the primary assist (took the secondary away from Rinzel cause of a whiff on a shot lol. Thems the brakes).

OT, but can the Blues traded Snuggerud to us? We already got his childhood friend Rinzel and now college teammate Moore on the team  His shot would be disgusting on the PP for us.
