I doubt Boqvist will be here next year, but if he is and no changes are made, I'd say something like this (hopefully):
Keith Jokiharju
Gustafsson Murphy
Forsling Boqvist

About time this team takes a page from this year's Blues team and sit the multi-million dollar boat anchor as much as possible.

Dobson was on an absolutely terrible team for the first half of the season. He was -30 there, and was a +40 on the team he had for the 2nd half of the season.

But nothing wrong with being 2nd best to a guy selected 12th. Beaudin, who was picked 27th, even being easily compared to Dobson right now, less than a year after their draft, is great news for us.

Yep.

the funny thing is not a single one of us knows what to expect with Beaudin. he is a 1st round pick that was a bit off the board, but what also doesn't help him is the higher drafted dmen or guys around longer like Joker, Krys, Boqvist and Mitchell. He literally is around Krys level in terms of recognition on here - the hilarity would be what if he turns out the best of the bunch?? I don't put a lot of stock in the Q when it comes to developing dmen, literally so many bust from that league, but what he is doing is very exciting and for what seems like a bonus pick/player he could be the homerun we have been praying for.

Beaudin is just as good as Jokiharju imo.

Really cerebral PMD. Great vision and playmaking ability. I don't think it's quite fair to knock the Q for dmen. I get where you're coming from, but I think Beaudin will be somewhere between Sam Girard and Thomas Chabot who are successful and recent Q graduates.

He's such a Kelley pick. (I mean that in a good way of course)

who made the comment about Boqvist returning to London?? I can't remember if it was someone in the Hawks brass or one of the beat reporters..I honestly do not like that at all, nothing left for him to prove there, get him into the AHL so we can start to see what we have here.

Really don't see virtually any chance he returns to London. Makes no sense.

I don't know .. I can see an argument either way. Staying in London he becomes The Man with Bouchard likely gone. He would then have the opportunity to grow his confidence to superstar status. He still is only 18 which is very young for a D playing with men. I know Joker's playing in the A and is only 19 which of course leads one to believe Boqvist might move to Rockford next season as well. Again I can see the benefit of both options ... but hey I'm a Libra rising!

You just never know with prospects honestly. I didn’t think Boqvist would have impressed in training camp like he did. I wouldn’t have thought Joker was as close to NHL ready as he is.

Sometimes these guys come out of nowhere. And then you get the highly touted ones who just never figure it out.

honest question - how much more the man can he be in the OHL??? top 5-7 in points for a defensemen already...for me I typically like to see these kids DOMINATE 1 year of junior or college prior to turning pro. Boqvist has already done that, and not saying there isn't things he still needs to work on with his game, I just don't really see him being able to work on them in the OHL...he needs the next test which would be in Rockford.

you obviously always take the BPA regardless of league, but I have typically shied away from defensemen from the Q. Outside of those two, I can't really name another dman that has performed at a strong level in the NHL since Letang and Yandle came out of there. Zboril looks like a bust, Meloche and Jeremy Roy both high picks that I don't see much with, Samuel Morin has flopped, but mainly injuries there....and our last high pick out of the Q in Dillon Fournier who did nothing.. I am sure I am missing a few that have performed well, but I am very cautious with these kids and for some reason they have a hard time truly developing NHL defenders.

This Ben Jones guy appears to be a reporter for Penn State and has 18k followers. Seems like a guy that might be tapped in.

This surprises me a bit.

Tbf none of these guys have produced as well as Beaudin.

I like Beaudin and think he'll make it. I think he'll prove any doubters wrong starting with a strong debut in Rockford next season.
