So we will get a Guelph (Entwhistle) vs. London (Boqvist) OHL Western Conference Seni-Final series....some good watching for Hawks fans here in Ontario who can see these games on the tube either via Sportsnet or Rogers cable SportsPak..

I do not know which is worse...some incompetent Blackhawks players or incompetent Hawks bloggers on certain websites...for instance Justin Lowe (not even his real name) committed a Huge Boo-Boo in his late column ...reporting that Brandon Hagel and Reece Johnson were through to Round 4 of the WHL playoffs after sweeping their series ...of course the WHL playoffs are only in Round 2 and of course Red Deer got swept in 5 games by Prince Albert ...So I do not know how Lowe or whatever his name is could make such an error...but it was a whopper of embarrass reportage.

Then in the comments section pertaining to this latest article ,his posters there are in a huge debate as to whether Entwhistlevis playing C or RW...shows they do not actually follow the OHL very carefully.
The fact is Entwhistlevis played mostly at Center when he was with Hamilton...after his trade to Guelph they played him mostly at RW until just a few games ago when they put him back to Centre where he seems to score better and they moved Schnarr down to their 2nd line to get better balanced scoring from their 2 top lines .....

Entwhistle is used by Guelph on their top pk unit but not on their top PP unit because Schnarr their most prolific Centre plays there...

Now ....back to Hagel and Johnson...now that their season us over,do they get to play in Rockford or do the Hawks tell them to start summer training ? Have not heard anything yet on what the plan is for them.

Entwistle has mainly played wing for Guelph - he slots in on occasion at center maybe 4-5 shifts the past week or so, but he isn't be used as strictly a center, he is playing more wing than anything right now.

You prospect experts, if Boqvist continues to play so well that you just have to call him up next year... who do you pair him with? Keith? Murphy?

Depends on who is here.

Keith could work but I expect Keith to be with Joker and Forsling/Murphy.

Maybe sign Edler and pair him with Murphy and put Forling and Boqvist together.

I’d want more of a veteran with him if you do call him up than Forsling.

Would Edler slow him down too much? I like Edler a lot but that would be my concern. Edler and Joker could make an interesting pair.

It is a weird situation because we have 1 top tier prospect in his second year and then potentially two more top tier prospects in their first year.

Edler is a good defensive player and would let Boqvist be aggressive. Boqvist should be fine 1on1 defensively as he skates really well and has the mind to go with it. I could see him taking time get used to our defensive system.

I would target Strahlman and Edler as potential signings that can help mentor him (both Sweds). Edler being the obvious first choice. Another player I would consider is Zardorov possible as well.

I'm confident in saying Boqvist won't be up here next year, skeptical that Mitchell will be here as well.

I still think it’s best he has one more developmental year, but if he keeps playing this well he may force the Hawks hand.

No one is really saying he will of has to be. We are talking hypothetically.

I think Boqvist could be up but I am not saying he has to be. They need to focus on the longterm with him.

I am all for getting Edler by the way - if it could be no more than 2-3 years...you bite the bullet in his final year, but the guy still can produce offensively as well. he gets shots on goal, doesn't ice the puck every 4th shift like a similar vet on defense we have. Edler blocks a lot of shots, throws the body around and plays solid defense still. he has lost a step over the years, but he still holds his own in that category. he would be a great mentor here to be honest, and surprised the Canucks aren't trying like hell to keep him for their young kids (though I don't know if they tried to be honest).

who made the comment about Boqvist returning to London?? I can't remember if it was someone in the Hawks brass or one of the beat reporters..I honestly do not like that at all, nothing left for him to prove there, get him into the AHL so we can start to see what we have here.

Yep I think he would really help. If they sign Edler I could see Boqvist being on the team.

I am still not sure what they are going to do with Gus.

I am also wondering if they potentially buyout Seabrook or ask him to retire with the idea that they will pay it longterm for him to be an ambassador (on the hush obvi). I just don't see how they can keep him (such a bad deal).

LTIR would be ideal but we still have to be cap compliant to start the season.

Compliance buyout is what we have to pray for.

Beaudin nominated for Top D in the Q along with Dobson. Dobson will probably win it but nice to see Beaudin getting some recognition

Beaudin deserves it honestly. Better production. I hate plus minus but he was +60.

Dobson was the 12th pick and NB was the 27th pick.

That plus 60 was very impressive, he was also on the top offensive team in the Q and had a lot of help. Still very impressive.
Dobson however had more games played which can give an extra edge to him. Dobson is also probably more reliable on D.

I doubt Boqvist will be here next year, but if he is and no changes are made, I'd say something like this (hopefully):
Keith Jokiharju
Gustafsson Murphy
Forsling Boqvist

About time this team takes a page from this year's Blues team and sit the multi-million dollar boat anchor as much as possible.

Beaudin deserves it honestly. Better production. I hate plus minus but he was +60.

Dobson was on an absolutely terrible team for the first half of the season. He was -30 there, and was a +40 on the team he had for the 2nd half of the season.

But nothing wrong with being 2nd best to a guy selected 12th. Beaudin, who was picked 27th, even being easily compared to Dobson right now, less than a year after their draft, is great news for us.
