They really missed the mark with Gable. He caught fire so quickly, and in such a genuine and organic fashion. It was approaching the "Yes movement" and "Kofi mania" levels of spark.

His first match with Gunther for the IC title was amazing, and I'm fine with them keeping the title on Gunther at the time. Then Gable sort of was phased out after that, and eventually they gave the rub to f***ing Sami Zayn who one hundred percent did not need it.

Gable deserved so much better. Still does, but now his character has flamed out and he's a dull heel.

If he’s not signed then they did the right thing.

I disagree.

If he's not signed it's entirely possible that it's because they didn't have enough for him to do, due to letting his fire die out. They had the chance to make a mid card star there, and catapult him from there in a couple years. There is way too much talent there doing nothing

People were also complaining that Sami was cooled off too much and without direction after having been in the main event the year before. You don’t give big pushes to mid card guys who aren’t signed. If the report is accurate, then they were right and Gable should be getting used to put over the people he would be leaving behind.

I WAS TALKING ABOUT TROUBLESOME85'S POST! WHICH HE ADMITTED!
You're getting a vertebreaker if you keep it up!

Chad Gable's current contract with the WWE runs out next Friday.

from wrestlingheadlines.com:

Fightful Select is reporting that the WWE contract of Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable is scheduled to expire at the end of next week.

As of Wednesday, the belief is that no new deal had been reached between Gable and WWE. If he does, in fact, reach free agency, Gable is expected to receive interest from across the entire industry.

His current WWE contract is reportedly set to expire next Friday, and WWE is said to be interested in re-signing him to a deal.

In terms of the outside interest from other companies, there is said to be a strong push from a lot of the talents outside of WWE to vouch for their various promotions to make an attempt to sign Gable, if he becomes available.

There are even said to be some MMA promotions that are interested in inquiring about Gable’s desire to possibly compete in the combat sports world.
Yikes. He's 38...

Saw some translated stuff from Rossy Ogawa from the past few days. One thing he noted is that he is saying he doesn’t need anyone else to come from Stardom because he doesn’t want a large roster, and says he was responsible for there being too many people in Stardom right now.

He also mentioned WWE, he doesn’t know when Giulia will be ‘gone,’ and has claimed that Paul Levesque wants to help him with whatever he wants to do (they first met in December), yet also says he does not want Marigold to interact with other promotions. Somehow, one of his goals is to be recognized in the Legacy category of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Gable is apparently a free agent in a week

Probably isn't going anywhere. In the middle of a big storyline with lots of TV time and getting some of the strongest reactions on the show.

Assuming he signs, he most likely forms a new stable with The Creeds and wins the IC belt by Summerslam

The Steelers had good luck turning Carlton Haselrig into a guard after he was a pretty solid college wrestler , not nearly the stature of Steveson, Haselrig even made a pro-bowl
Stephen Neal was a starting G for the Patriots for nearly 10 years after being a two time NCAA Heavyweight champion wrestler including beating Lesner in the '99 final. He packed on some pounds to play in the NFL though.

I assume those guys actually played football before, though?

Haselrig did not play in college, he did play in HS

Also it seems I undersold his wrestling prowess as he was a 6 time NCAA champion

Dave is wondering out loud on WOR if Arn Anderson is going back to WWE to rejoin Cody as manager. Cody talked last week about wanting one.

Mayu Iwatani says she’s not leaving Stardom for Marigold. Hopefully she’s involved in Forbidden Door, but it doesn’t seem like it based on what she’s been doing setting up programs with cross promoting Ice Ribbon.

Nattie’s contract is up next month. WWE apparently hasn’t been eager to get her signed, but still feels there is time. She’s someone who I could definitely see wanting to see what else is out there, (moreso with New Japan than AEW), rather than running out the clock backstage in WWE.
