I don't know how true that is but shoot I'm all in on that!

I'll tell 'ya, Pearson did NOT look out of place last night. In fact, he looked the way Dwight King looked when we first brought him up 3 years ago.....

Then again, Frattin's hit about FOURTEEN goal posts this year. I don't know who I'd rather trade.

Greene is good in the room.

Yep, Pearson looked very comfortable out there with Kopi and Carter. Once he gets comfortable, the game will slow down for him and the better he'll be. I would not be opposed to moving him for the right pieces, but I would be fine seeing him in the lineup regularly as well. We all have to remember the guy is pretty much a late bloomer. Late growth spurt and has come on like gang busters on every level since. He's going to be a player for some team if not ours.

Elkund has mentioned the NYI having interest in Sam Gagner. Rumor has it that LA and EDM had a deal around Clifford and a pick.
So maybe a three team trade?
LA- Vanek
NYI- Gagner and EDMs 3rd rd pick (from LA from scrivens trade)
EDM- Clifford, LA 1st rd pick and futures

To make deal work it may have to be an edm NYI deal first so edm can retain some of vaneks salary before shipping him to LA ( if this is allowed under cba). Also futures based on LA winning or making it to cup final would likely be tied in

I don't think Dean will trade for Vanek or Moulson. It's a waste of assets.

Now I could see a deal where Moulson is included if we are also getting Ehrhoff.

That rumored deal of Greene, Pearson, and a 1st for Moulson and Ehrhoff sounds exactly like the kind of deal Dean would make.

Ehrhoff - Doughty
Regehr - Voynov
Muzzin - Mitchell
Martinez

Not too shabby, and if Voynov doesn't step it up, he could be the one sitting a game or two.

Vanek is not coming to the Kings. He is a pure rental and its the worst kept secret he wants to go to the Wild next season. We have zero chance to sign him. Giving up anything more than a 111th round draft pick for this clown would be rip-off.

Why do people make up fake Twitter accounts, anyway? What is the purpose? They are not gainfully employed, I guess. Jesus H. Christ.

I'd hate to see Pearson go. And a 1st? I don't like this deal. We would essentially be giving up the farm for Ehrhoff. Not good.

Moulson is rumored to be a pure rental. He doesn't like Lombardi and won't stay in Los Angeles (still bitter after all this time), despite his relationship to Quick. So that makes it worse.

It's not ideal, but I think Dean believes that a player like Ehrhoff is the key to going deep in the playoffs.

Pearson is finally not looking so lost out there. I wonder if that is giving Dean second thoughts? I would certainly be okay with standing pat and Dean acquiring a SAH defenseman in the UFA market during the off season. If the Kings get nothing on the back end in the trade market it will undoubtedly put a lot of pressure on Muzzin to perform in the playoffs. I think that the kid is really making strides and it might fast forward his development, but if the Kings don't upgrade the blue line I don't expect them to win more than a single round if that in the playoffs. The wild card as always would be Quick as he can out duel any goalie in the NHL.

I agree with you on Moulson, I don't think he wants to be in LA long term.

I agree!! Plus IMO toffoli showed he could handle playoff hockey and produced in playoffs. Not sold on Moulson at all. IMO he's your classic good player on bad team. Scoring with Tavares whose top 5 playmaking C helped too lol

Seriously. It's like the lightbulb went on last night. He was the guy we were advertised with the hustle and puckhounding and pretty much fit right in with Carter and Richie. Although I wonder how much of that had to do with MTL's size?

Glad I'm not DL. He has some tough decisions to make. Do you roll with your original philosophy and let some kids experience growing pains in their roles this year in the playoffs (Toffoli, Pearson, Muzzin, Voynov even), or do you move them for more experience/poise (Vanek/Moulson, Ehrhoff)?

If Lombardi has his sight set on Vanek or Moulson, I doubt what Pearson does or doesn't do will change his mind. I'm all for Vanek over Moulson, at a reasonable cost. Reasonable cost being a Pearson +.

if we do a deal for both Moulson and Erhoff i'd be pretty pleased. Even if we have to give up some quality assets, to get both would make up for it. Also, Erhoff's contract is killer, and if he keeps his quality of play up it would pay off for us heavily.

but if we trade for just one of them i'd be upset.

Dean has a lot to weigh here. It's not like the Kings window is slamming shut any time soon if he keeps the current roster and then uses his cap space to address a couple of holes in the off season.

Then again, how many times does a team have a legit shot at winning a cup?

I have to admit that unless an absolute bargain falls in his lap, I would like to stick with what we have.

I have been very critical of Pearson, but the kid does look like he will make it in the NHL.

He would be a lot to give up for 5 or 6 weeks of Moulson or Vanek. Now Ehrhoff, that would be a different story.
