Don't know why NYR would be his choice looking at it form any angle.

They are a team that doesn't score a lot (which won't bode well for his point totals/next contract)

Their cap situation isn't great with Staal and Girardi wasting lots of space for a long time coming

They rely heavily on a goalie who is starting to get up there in years and will have a rough go of it if/when he slows down.

I get it from a city perspective, to be young in New York would be fun, but from a hockey perspective it makes no sense.

We were only tied for 7th in goals scored during the regular season.

We have plenty of cap space after moving Brassard (and Nash with his 7.8 million is likely gone soon).

Considering Lundqvist had a pretty poor year and we still managed 101 points, your third point is also false.

If you are going to give reasons as to why a player shouldn't go somewhere you may want to conduct even a TINY bit of research before hand.

Incorrect. Try again

Literally scored 1 less goal than the Blackhawks last year, good enough for 7th in the league in Goals for.

It's Chim Richalds, not Chin Richalds.

Wouldn't expect anything less from a Rangers fan living in Philadelphia.

;)

Absolutely, but he could have this same experience in NJ or Brooklyn. Heck, the Devils practice closer to MSG than the Rangers do! And all the young Devils live in Hoboken aka the 6th borough (though really it's the 5th borough because Staten Island shouldn't count). Taylor Hall just got his apartment in Hoboken, which is bordered by the 2 tunnels into the city, and has a 2 minute train ride to Manhattan.

I feel like the Rangers move a forward before the season, regardless of if they get Vesey or not. I see it as, if we get Vesey:

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Miller-Zib-Zucc
Vesey-Hayes-Buchnevich
Grabner-Jooris-Fast

With Lindberg out until at least November.

Unless its Glass why would they be doing that?

It will be interesting to see if Vesey's any good, or if this is just filling the void while we have nothing else to talk about.

Me thinks that if Staple had said that CHI and TOR or TOR and NYR are still in it, this post wouldn't exist.

Is it not fair for a fan of any team to have interest in how their team is impacted, or should people only post if they are genuinely interest in the fate of Jimmy Vesey, regardless if he signs in New York, Chicago, Malmo or Moscow?

My point was that people have been pumping up false sources and shooting down legitimate ones all based on how well/bad their team is doing in the Vesey race and this has been happening since Part I.

We have Glass, Fast, Lindberg, Jooris, Grabner, Gerbe, Hrivik, Jensen, Hayes, Buchnevich, and Jooris in the running for the bottom 6. Not to mention if Buchnevich takes off that likely makes Nash moveable. Depth is good, but that's a LOT of depth. This isn't even taking Vesey into consideration.

Can the fans of the teams who miss out please post angrily about it for several pages.

Some suggestions

Matt Gilroy 2.0
The team he signed with stinks
Hobey Baker winners never do anything good
We did not really want him anyway
I hope he busts
I am not jealous
How do you make a Voodoo doll?
I am going to boo him every time he plays here

I guess...I think the quoted poster was just looking to see if that Staples guy is credible, being that he's from a different market. I would also like to know that as I have no idea and have seen conflicting reports just in this thread

Creep much?

LOL, I'm only joking.

Its cool to have an idea where players live, what their routines are like.

Edit: Or is it?

I don't get the appeal of the NYR to a college FA in 2016, but to each his own.

Agreed. Much like Boston they're a team on the downswing. I wouldn't be upset if they got him. Better them than Toronto, but I don't see any upside in signing with them outside of living in NYC, which isn't the ideal place to live for everyone, but perhaps he's one of those people that want to experience living in a HUGE city with a lot of culture.

He'd have a year or two to adjust in NY. Chicago would demand an immediate impact.

So... Boston it is!

If Chicago is pitching 1LW and NYR is pitching 3LW, I cant see NYR winning that battle

Depends on how you look it at. Much less likelihood of flopping in a 3rd line role. Allows you to grow. Zuccarello and/or Nash will age out anyway.

If he's good enough to play 1LW on the Hawks, he's good enough to play in the top-6 of the Rangers anyway. I don't think anyone is pitching specific lines so much as there being an open LW slot.
