I would not complain with either Duchene or Landeskog at the right price, but if I had to pick I would take Duchene, he is a much more offensive player and that is what the Bruins need right now. Spooner actually has one more goal than Landeskog at this point. I agree Zboril would be the guy they would want plus Heinen, the Avs got to see Heinen play college hockey out there, they probably like his game. So Zboril + Heinen +? for Duchene maybe we also swap K Miller and Subban for Weircoch?

I'd hate to see Heinen go, but if it meant getting a guy like Duchene or Landeskog then I'd be all for it. I'm torn between the two because Landeskog plays the two-way game, but Duchene brings the scoring depth that we seem to be lacking.

I don't think we're in on Landeskog of Duchene. Not seriously anyway, especially with the abundance of left shot/left wingers in the system, raises to some of our current guys coming up, the cost it would require to get Duchene/Landeskog, etc etc.

Like who? I mean there are some guys with potential, but not to the talent of a Landeskog or Duchene.

Wonder if something like:
Spooner
Heinen
Zboril

for

Duchene or Landeskog

gets it done?

Spooner has been decent but he's going to need a raise and he's just not an ideal fit in the top 6 for the Bruins right now. I could see the Avs liking him as a stopgap cheap alternative to Duchene or Landeskog.

Heinen has the Denver connection and is a solid prospect.

Zboril gives them their high end LHD prospect.

Bruins add Hayes + 1st, and Colorado adds McLeod. I think it's very close.

Not the talent of either one but certainly not the pay status either. We've invested in these kids and I think it would be prudent to let them develop and let them win their spots. The payoff would be cost controlled young talent brought up thru the system so we'd be able to spend money keeping the top tier talent awhile longer.

Yeah, they'll probably ask for Carlo, which is a no-go.

I want no part of trading Carlo, McAvoy or Lindgren for virtually any forward. There is plenty of room on this defense for all three, and we could desperately use them...even Lauzon would be hard to let go seeing how he's battled his way into minutes for Canada this year.

Definitely hoping Zboril is the D involved with any potential deals we might be trying to swing.

Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand, Backes, Krug & Rask are all locked up long term. Pasta is due this year and Carlo is on an ELC for another two years before he becomes an RFA. I'm not sure which other top tier talent we need to save money for to keep around a while longer.

but they have too many prospects at this point. At a certain point you just don't have enough spots and it can stunt the growth of prospects when they can't get any NHL playing time. You keep most of the top prospects and let them develop, absolutely. But if you can move a couple to get a 25 or younger, proven scorer then you do it, especially if you can get rid of some dead cap (Beleskey/Hayes/McQuaid) to pay the guy you bring in.

I think Spooner, Heinen and Zboril is good enough to get Duchene, also we can dump Hayes for Mcleod and add a B prospect maybe Fitzgerald, Subban or Donato, but I would in not trade our first round pick. Even with adding a guy like Landeskog or Duchene we could still miss the playoffs and that pick could be a good one which keeps the build for the future going, would love to get Hischier.

Meh. Reminds me of Brett Connolly.

Seems more like a young Paille with more room for offensive growth. Would certainly be a good upgrade to Nash, Hayes, or Acciari, especially in the speed department.

One thing that got me thinking a little today was that Boston seems to have quite a few wings at the AHL, NCAA, or OHL, too many for what could be available for roster spots. Carolina has an embarrassment of youth at defense and need wings badly. Could someone like Cehlarik or Debrusk be moved as a package for someone like Pesce, McKeown, or Fleury?

Thanks, but again i don't see Colorado being attached to it. I'm all for them getting one of Landeskog/Duchene though.
