he needs PP time. the current PP is stale, it's time to put him and Kakko on PP1.

Despite his play not 'deserving' it at all I actually agree. The PP, with the extra space and time that is created by the odd man, might help him actually hang on to the puck for a second or two and remind hum that he has some skill

Fair article. Sticking with bust.

KK in place of Trocheck. Need a shooting option on the RW with Panarin and Fox at the top. Rotation on the left, with Mika alternating between side of the net and the circles. CK upfront throughout. KK with passes to Fox / Bread and then rotation down low / front of net with Bread filling his spot at that moment.

Constant movement.

I'm theorizing that the reason why they won't make those proposed changes to the PP isn't because Drury feels indebted to Trocheck (as some have said) or Panarin's aversion to standing in a different spot...it's because the current setup is perfection.
For being perfection it's weird to see it 19th in the league. The current pp is flawed with a singular strategy to get the puck to zib

If they trade him, Chytil, or Kakko at the deadline for Kane, this organization will be a total joke, even worse than now. No one will ever want to be drafted by this team.

Edited to add: Laf will be Rick Middleton all over again if he gets traded, so will Kakko and Chytil.
Absolutely. There’s no question those 3 would thrive in other organizations. If anything I’d do the opposite of trade them too. Trade out some vets and give them the keys to this thing. Top 6 minutes and playing in all situations. Let them play and grow as players like every other organization has done.

I’d get on the kids, but they’re playing as poorly as everyone else. They’re just taking the lead from guys that should know better.

Of the 24 games that Laf has played this season, only 3 of them have been in the 12 minute TOI and nothing below that. Thing is, the stats of the games where he's played 12 minutes vice playing 18 minutes are just basically the same.
He should be playing 18 to 20 consistently with more pp timr or nothing changes.

Why is it not registering here that the "vets" that everyone wants to start moving have NMC's?

Are people saying that Drury should begin to ask them to wave the no trade clause that was given to them?

And who can eat those contracts for high draft picks? Or are people here implying that a team is going to give up core players with similar contracts for the Rangers core players?

So what is it about this organization in your opinion that keeps 1st/2nd overalls from developing?
The rangers buy talent... that doesn't work... they rebuild and draft 1st/2nd overal, 6th OA, etc.

What does work here? Starting to believe it's not hockey.

I for one am completely shocked that he hasn't flourished here. After all he only has $18m+ in veteran players ahead of him at his position, has been bounced around the roster from day 1, and hasn't had a consistent line mate for more than a dozen games. All while being relegated to whatever crumbs of PP time the vets feel like surrendering each night.

Very weird. Logic says that strategy should work. Must be the player.

With each day that passes, Kent Hughes will laugh even harder if Drury calls him up asking for their 1st for Lafreniere. I think Montreal would have done this last summer. But now?
