There’s a 2% chance of that happening. We're not getting Tarasenko.
At this point we likely start the season with Debrincat and non-existent depth. An injury away from missing the playoffs.

Compared to what though? An ok deal may need to be taken to get this doneHe concerning thing is neither NYI or ANA can give us a good hockey deal
Except Bruce/Dorion are not the only ones saying that a comtract is holding it up. Dreger said it today.'That's the GM's job': Alex DeBrincat's camp responds to being blamed for lack of trade
DeBrincat’s agent told The Athletic the report of their camp’s contract demands holding up a trade is “entirely false and without merit.”theathletic.com
looks like Jeff Jackson is firing back.

I understood .. Sens may have to make the most of what they can get is what I was saying. Its not a winnable trade.I am thinking there is two trains of thought; a futures based deal where you have cap space to pursue a free agent, or a hockey deal.
As all free agents are taken, the only way we fix our middle 6 is via a hockey trade. Neither team really has good pieces for that
Except Bruce/Dorion are not the only ones saying that a comtract is holding it up. Dreger said it today.
The GM’s job is to do what’s best for his team, not the agent or player.
Could be the final strawThat is true. The agents job is to do what is best for the player. In this situation what is best for Debrincat is to make it to FA in a larger cap world where he has complete control of his destination while collecting 8M+ in salary this year.
Sadly that doesn't make sense for Ottawa.
Where this went wrong was Dorion feeling heat and giving Bruce negative tidbits of Debrincat's camp. The "not negotiating through the media" standard is gone and it makes everyone look bad.

My friend just sent it to me working on it now.I dont have an athletic sub, any notable bits of info?
Sounds like Jeff is saying he hasn’t engaged in contract talks which is different than what Dorion said in his presser
Who cares about the media shit? Debrincat is an RFA and doesnmt have a co teact, of course the acquiring team wants to know what he’s about. The agent has just as much of a role in facilitating a trade here, instead he’s making a shocked Pikachu face. That is true. The agents job is to do what is best for the player. Honestly Dorion just collect the L. Give him to the wings for whatever and utilize your cap space to round out the team.
DeBrincat’s agents have decided that, with unrestricted free agency just one year away, they should hold off on signing long term. While it’s true and fair to say that DeBrincat doesn’t want to sign long-term in Ottawa, a better way to put it would be: DeBrincat’s people don’t want to sign long-term anywhere right now – not unless a team really makes it worth their while to skip unrestricted free agency next summer.
It really sounds like the agent has made it clear.Who cares about the media shit? Debrincat is an RFA and doesnmt have a co teact, of course the acquiring team wants to know what he’s about. Where do you think Dreger is getting it? It's not too difficult to figure out who might benefit from leaking that info to pin the blame on DeBrincat.Except Bruce/Dorion are not the only ones saying that a comtract is holding it up. Dreger said it today.
Better hope DeBrincat doesn't have an Uncle Ben parked out front CTC...Dorion: Debrincat if we pay you 8 the way the roster is constructed we won't be able to fill it without trading away another player. We also traded a lot to acquire you and it doesn't make sense that you would only play 2 seasons for us.

He can have the job if he's prepared to wear the Michelle Pheifer Catwoman suit.Catman time?
- The post media article suggesting Debrincat and Agent holding up a trade due to contract demands is entirely false and without merit as per Jeff Jackson.
- Per Jeff Jackson, The senators have not reached a trade agreement to the point where Jackson has been able to discuss a contract with a team.
The rest of it is Ian Reporting on what is already out there and the different scenarios of how this can play out with a bunch of Dorion quotes.
