Is it possible, that if PD doesn’t get an offer he like before the draft,

Would his next advantage be, for the teams that lost out on the guy they wanted July 1st, or a few days after?

It's not a great return but I think zadina will be an nhl player that can hopefully add a little scoring to the 3rd line. Packaged with the 17th is what I've been expecting. I would rather soderblom but it's ok. We need to fill the 3rd/4th line with undervalued guys who can chip in and keep momentum.

I think he'll wait for that anyway unless he gets blown away. Roundabout July 5th, the already slim pickings are gonna be really slim.

I'd rather they keep Zadina.

Spending almost 5M on Joseph and Zadina to be our 3rd/4th line RWs would be awful.

This should be tattooed on Dorion's arm. You just know it'll be the difference between them and us making the final seed.
He purposely didn’t trade Hoffman within the conference because of the EK drama, he knows the deal in that regard.

Folks ate him alive for not trading within the division, if I remember correctly.

We can all probably settle on making sure the best deal is the one made, and divisional rivals should have to pay a premium.

If the return is awful/underwhelming i rather roll the dice and try to win with a healthy roster and risk letting Debrincat walk for zero at years end.

This my thinking as well. Use him as your own rental if no one is ponying up decent offers. Move him at the deadline if someone is ready to pay up or try making a run for the cup.

As someone who watches as many Detroit as Ottawa games, a deal centering Zadina would be utterly disastrous. Zadina is the type of prospect/player who never arrived and will likely never arrive at any high level of hockey (meaning a regular top 9 player). The only way I would not be displeased by this trade is if the #9 pick comes with it, which will of course not happen.

If you are going for depth players, you go for Rasmussen. He is the type of guy who will give you a big and tough 3rd line.

Rasmussen + #17 or Berggren + one of #41-43
seem to me to be the only possible trades where both teams get fair value that actually helps them.

Let's see if Pierre gets played by Yzerman.

It wasn't good for the Sharks or Heatley. I rarely dole them out though
so you are saying they work??

Alright then, I can see a real value in you.

Are you willing to throw in a small one against my old boss... nothing too extreme.. Ants in his bed are fine

Enjoy your evening Spez.

I don’t even want Zadina taking up a roster spot for free.

I want the #9 from Detroit or the #17 and Rasmussen.
If he re-signs then either are a steal for Detroit which I hope we don’t come to regret.

Rasmussen is basically Nick Paul. Maybe he’s worth it in a package but he isn’t all that mean but he hits. He can shoot but won’t score a lot. Smart player but not skilled enough to be a top 6 player. Good defensively and on draws.

I’d rather just trade him for the highest pick we could get than sacrifice on that to get Rasmussen.

That’s why you need the 17th included.
Again it’s a steal for Detroit for MR and then 17th but here we are.
At least this trade has a purpose and compliments the final goal here of cleaning up the forward group without AD.

Tkachuk Stutzle Giroux
Norris Batherson
Rasmussen Pinto
Kastelic

Add Joseph and Greig into the bottom six and then either use the 17th + to get what you want on the 2nd line or even better a good mid tier UFA like Bunting and keep the pick.

If they are low-balling, you simply sign him to 15% off his QO and ship him to the highest bidder during the trade deadline.
If a guy like Jeannot can fetch as much as he did, Debrincat should be acquiring as much if not more from some other lunatic GM.
Agreed. I’d rather just ride it out if that’s the package. I’d rather just deal him for the first next year then to a team looking to make a push and see if he agrees to sign during the season.

Detroit can lowball all they want. He can sign there for free next season for all I care. Plus if he’s scoring a lot next year his value is gonna be high.

You can always do a sign and trade during the season.

Regardless if he’s dealt I’d rather just a D man than a winger.

Greig isn’t ready.

I think I’d rather take a flyer on Laff then if nothing develops. Let the rangers have him.
