So if we see that a new Chipotle restaurant is being opened on Palladium Drive and is serving Canada Dry ginger ale exclusively and advertising it as "all our drinks are served chilled to a perfect 38F" - we can safely assume he is being extended?

What a loser. Go enjoy your shithole of a country down South.

Hopefully we make him play out next year, and give him zero PP time. Let's see what kind of contract he gets after a 45pt season.

No I'm not vindictive.

Being a multi-millionaire or billionaire in the US is way better than being one in Canada lol.

Typically worse for everyone else though.

I get being upset at Cat over not wanting to stay, but what's with the Chipotle hate? Its got some decent food if you're in a rush and need fast food. Bunch of haters

Don't these guys all have chefs making them incredible meals? Just seems out of place to be eating at a ho hum joint. Like, do these guys eat at Subway and their lame ass "sandwiches" too? I assume they're way above that sort of slog being as wealthy as they are.

It's a spoiled brat attitude.... he needs to be more like Phil Kessel. That guy was perfectly happy with the hot dog stand. :D

I'm sure they have nutritional consultants and pre-game meals are probably provided by the team but I doubt anyone has a private chef on staff 24/7 lol.

TO used to (still does) smash McDonald's all the time.

I guess so ya. I don't know why I assumed that they would always have their food prepared for them by an on staff chef.

Full time on staff is probably a luxury reserved for guys like Lebron and less so for a standard NHL player.

I've certainly heard about team chefs for teams in leagues like the NFL and NBA to get their players eating right, but I guess that's a little more prominent of a league in general and the luxuries they get, plus they wouldn't be coming home with them.

But I do still chuckle at the thought of someone making 10's of millions eating Subway's shitty sandwiches or eating at a standard chain where food comes out of a bag or the freezer and heated up type place.

Why is anyone upset at him? He signed that contract originally for a reason. He wanted to pick where he can go. The only one to be mad at here is Dorion. He made the deal he knew the circumstances. You would think if you are giving up that type of draft capital you would have an idea if he wanted to extend.

Sens need to maximize the asset and trade him to somewhere he wants to extend.

This ain't the New York Rangers, here they probably get a $10 per diem or groupon.

Thankfully soon they will have access to free Farm Boy food!

Of course we would, we'd just eat MORE"

I think Ott has a unique opportunity here to trade DBC & return two good pieces, that's why I like the idea of making a deal with Philly who has two good pieces. The Sens could use in Laughton & Hart who would both improve the team at a cost they can afford. Add Norris returning, hopefully Formenton re-signing, Sokolov/JBD graduating, Kleven on defence & if Jiri can turn into a decent 4th liner would all improve the team. I see it as a potential positive for the team if they get a decent return from it, at least players that make sense for a playoff team & get rid of some of their players that don't make sense to hang on to.

Riddle me this- since ADC can be re-traded at the TDL why wouldn't his value be half decent to a bubble team that might want to give things a shot and then flip him and retain if they don't meet a certain points threshold by March and/or they can't resign him? CBJ for example who seems to be going for it.

How about Ottawa for example ...... They fit that criteria exactly.

This out for bubble teams combined with the contenders that are interested in him should drive his value up, no?

I would think at the TDL he is worth a mid to late first, why are we not expecting more now considering there are more suitors? And we can take salary back in the form of a player so it's not his QO that is a major deterrent. I don't quite see why his value is pegged at TDL levels at this point.

His QO is a major deterrent because its not just taking a player back. Most teams looking for a one year boost are at the cap, they have to move 9M back. It makes no sense for them to move a traditional 9M player, i.e. really good to great player, so they will be looking at throwing crap back. Which Ottawa does not want.

I'm sure Edmonton would love to offload Campbell, Foegle and Yamamoto to Ottawa. But why we would want that? Vancouver would easily offer Myers and OEL. Same problem.

But at TD, with 50% retention (or even 75%), the cap issue can minimal.

There is a reason why we got him for the price we did. For this exact situation. No team wanted to be in this boat, at least at the price we paid. I just want to get max value back. If thats trading him now, great. If its waiting to TDL great. If its not trading and using the cap space next summer great. If its trading intra-division great. He still is a valuable asset, lets use it.

Why would DBC want to sign in Philly ? That kind of return only comes with an extension in hand

Dorion better hope he can do a sign and trade or the return is gonna be ass

It would be nice but I don't think teams will be willing to give that much up ... they know Ottawa is over a barrel here.

Lol, every player gets the same per diem per day, CBA mandated.
Where there's a will, there's a way. If anyone could find a loophole, it'd be Melnyk.

Lol. I really shouldn't generalize so much anyways. I'm sure many wealthy people are down to earth people that still enjoy comforts of old and don't live as lavishly as you might expect. They're not all trust fund babies I guess.

Why do you think Ott is over a barrel, there should be several teams who could use an offensive 60 pt player in their line up? Laughton makes $3 mil & Hart makes just under $4 mil which is basically less than what we thought DBC wants . Brannstrom, Joseph, Thomson, Merilainen & Gambrell are all assets that could be used to add more to the deal as well as others they could move. It would be funny to see DBC playing LW & Tippett playing RW but adding DBC would give Philly two decent lines.

Philly could just turn around & trade him, Hoffman never made it to SJ, they could bring in a 3rd team like Detroit or Car if Philly wants picks or maybe Philly is a team on his list, who knows. We don't know what DBC wants, some think he would only go to Detroit but we don't know that, if he has more than one team on his list than it's more than just Detroit. There are all kinds of possibilities with this & where he goes, IMO Philly is as good a situation as any & we have other assets to throw into a deal to add to it.

I dont think anyone is trading for Hart. Dont think Formenton will be playing any time soon either. I also dont know why Philly would make a deal like that it doesnt make sense for them. They are tearing it down.

I like the idea of Sokolov getting an opportunity.

Detroit makes sense. I think the sens should be targeting draft capital personally. You cant have nothing coming down the pipe not if you want anything that looks like sustained success.

The sens need to try and aquire some players without giving up assets. With the flat cap there arent very many landing spots Ottawa will provide better opportunity in the line up and to win than most of the teams that will be bidding on free agents.

I don't see much upside with Sokolov personally. Too slow and skills or lack thereof doesn't help him
