Not that the value isn’t there, its just that the Sens don’t have the 11m in cap space for Marner and similar to you guys we need even more cheap good depth like Greig and Pinto provide.

As far as Debirincat’s next deal, I think most Sens fans don’t want to pay more than 8.25 - 8.50 AAV on his next contract. Whether or not thats realistic, we’ll find out soon.

I think value wise its a good offer but .. I would not make that trade. Bad time to take on 11m AAV on the wing for 1 player. Sens need to build out their roster and need to be able to spread the $. I am sure there will be others that take that to acquire a player of Marner's caliber.

I appreciate the feedback. I proposed this deal on the Leafs board then flipping Debrincat to LAK for Vilardi and Iafallo and it was received well so I had to check here - seems to be a no-go.

Unrelated to this thread: would you do Kastelic for Timmins? Seems to fit a need for both teams.

Good value, you'll probably get more than that, but I wouldn't do it because I absolutely hate Marner, he doesn't play the hard nose playoff style hockey we'd need. Nylander is the guy I'd target, but from a Toronto perspective, he should be the guy they keep.

I also wouldn't trade Kastelic, dude seems like the ultimate 4th line center.

I have nothing against Marner as player but want him no where near the Sens. I just feel there is something shady about him and the whole Marner, Matthews, Nylander trio. Also why would Ottawa pay 11 mil for a regular season player who turns into a 5 mil player in the post season ? All skill very little heart and will. No thank you.

Well, when they traded for him they knew what his QO would be and they carved out the space in their internal budget to accommodate a future extension. This isn't "new" business, as far as handing out money goes and we know the hockey operations have been operating within a set budget all year - hence, some dollar in dollar out stuff that had to happen. Now, heading into July 1st, I'm not sure what the plan is there and I'm assuming any new spending will have to be approved by the new owners while the deal continues to officially close.

I think given the playoff history you'd find a lot of teams reluctant to bring in Marner or Matthews. I'd be more inclined to look into Nylander

I'm not trying to poke at you but to me it's about getting it done and these guys haven't. I feel the same way about a former Sen that's in the Hall.

With ownership unclear, there are no extensions. DBC will reportedly wait for new ownership before deciding on an extension. That makes sense for both parties.

Best one, by far, is someone asking to explain what "stet" means and it's that picture saying "oh f*** put it back in" lmao.
