Peak Bertuzzi-Larkin-Mantha was a great first line but Bertuzzi was often injured or Mantha just decided to disappear. In term of talent, it was absolutely a top line, just not consistent. Let's hope this current first line can play a full season like this.

If 27 goals and 66 points is his lowest point, then yes, as a Wings fan I am very content at how this is all playing out. What "honest effort" do you need from me? No he didn't, but even if he DID say that, which he didn't, do you think that matters whatsoever to us Wings fans who are watching him lead the league in scoring currently? It's honestly not so much the point totals or missed chances. 66 points with an honest effort would have been ok. The overall body language and nonchalant attitude toward some of the muffins he served up (especially in the first half of the season) was an absolute slap in the face as a fan. You could tell the guy just didn't give a shit - and that was confirmed over the course of the summer.
