I think he will be, it's tough to gauge how he'd be as an everyday NHLer right now which is fair. As a prospect I would have said Provorov was better but we see what he is now. I'm just glad in this case they aren't rushing it as I don't suspect will be an issue in any case in the Waddell era. Mateychuk does have a leadership quality I feel that I didnt feel with Provorov though.

Doesn't answer your question but 8 points in 7 games, 4 goals and 4 assists.. Seems to be heading in the right direction after a 31 in 58 last season. He's already scored half as many goals as he did in all of last season.

After 1, it's Roman Ahcan 2, Griffins 1. Mateychuk with an assist on the 2nd goal. Sawchenko in net with 5 saves.

Ahcan with 7 goals on the season already.

Monsters win 3-1. Good weekend beating two good teams.

Lots of delay of game penalties tonight. 4 so far tonight between both teams. 1-0 Monsters early 2nd. TFW with the goal. Another assist for Mateychuk. 16 goals by both teams in first 2 meetings this year, so quiet so far this game.

No real flow to the game. Not crisp passing. But Jet been good in goal. 1-1 game.

Mateychuk set up nicely in front of the net, I think by Gambrell, but missed the net. Some good 4 on 4 zone time, but couldn't convert.
